My sons and I did the same thing. We built two setups. My oldest son sold his and then missed it so bad he borrowed my youngest son's and still has not given it back. I just pre-ordered the game and I will be getting a pick-up truck and going to his house to get the racing seat/controls setup and bring it to my house to play during the winter.

You should sell yours if you are not going to use it. My son got $500 out of the one he sold. That is just the seat, frame and controls. No monitor or TV.
