I'd love to be able to create a unified ruleset so that the FT86CUP can be replicated nationwide with different regions, and (just a pipe dream), a national championship

We need to get some 86 folks and shops in the Midwest to pitch in taking down lap times at events and do tech inspection etc. Good platform for local shops to market themselves out in that area if they like to sponsor some prizes or manpower at the track whatever. We can do it regionally with socal chapter and Midwest chapter for now and see where that goes from there. Maybe it'll go national, maybe not, but this is a great way to start.

@Guff @Touge Factory: you guys willing to handle mid-west? Are there track day organizations out there that can host events for you guys?

I'm in the NASA Central region ... and will be doing events all next season. Some are shared with the Great Lakes region ... We're doing a crossover event with them at Road America in August. I could start looking at official results for Time Trial events across all NASA regions and tying them to tracks. Base Class for the FR-S/BRZ is TTD ... but any power mods or major weight/aero can quickly put you up a class into TTC.

NASA TT rules for reference:
http://www.nasaproracing.com/rules/time_trial_rules.pdf I like the current stock and under classifications robispec and CSG drew up. Pretty fair and fairly easy to verify classifications. The "over class" is a bit broad. Then again, there aren't too many 86 modified to those levels coming out to the tracks just yet.
