Keep in mind, this may change if going with FI. If you decide to go blow-through maf or speed density, etc in order to adjust the various airflow tables, then you may need to compensate by modifying some of the other tables

Makes total sense. Luckily FI is not really in my immediate planning. I love the NA feel and response, even if I'm still slow

of course you feel a difference with elevation. Nothing you can do to change that since air is thinner the higher you go. Some will say boost is the fix for that, but in reality most turbos don't have enough headroom to make up for that much less air.

Right. I thought mayyyyybe a tune could help if I tuned a little lean and maybe bumped up some timing. I know that air is "thinner" (less oxygen) but was curious if I could offset that any at all on my own. So far non-positive displacement boost would be the only thing I would consider at altitude.

The tune would have been especially pertinent if MAF sensors were more limited in their use, but the answer from shiv clarified that for me.

I'm still pretty new to software tuning, so I figure a few questions like this can't hurt. Maybe someone else will see it and learn without asking for themselves.

I would take a look at the ESC thread. That may be a very cost effective way to maintain that linear powerband you are looking for with low maintinence/cost

I've got a enough drive sessions under my belt now to comment.

My feelings may be skewed due to my winter steelies + Blizzak LM-32's and the drop in ambient temperatures around here, but the car is noticeably faster and smoother now. The throttle response feels improved throughout the entire powerband, and the car pulls significantly harder at higher rpm's. Overall, I am very pleased with 1.33 Stage 1.

My only concern is... I installed Torque Pro last night and got it set-up for my car, started the car and warmed it up, and then went for a test drive. Torque Pro identified 3 misfires with my car before I got out of my drive way. I'm not sure what the logs were checking, as they are just codes and not sensor descriptions, and I'm not familiar with what they mean. I'll post my logs up in the Torque Pro thread later so see what they mean (hopefully they are harmless). I'll do more datalogging with Torque Pro tonight.

I also see that another thread was posted with a datalogging Beta for the OFT. I will be interested in seeing how that develops.

PS: I didn't hear any engine knock or pinging, but the engine does sound alot different between 3000-4000 rpm's than it did before the tune, and I can hear the "woosh" sound of my K&N much more profoundly at 5000-redline than I did before the dude.

Thanks for the feedback It's completely normal to hear more induction noise with the OTS map. This is due to the changes we make in Intake VVT timing. You'l notice a very noticeable change in intake/exhaust note above 4500rpm. As for misfire codes, it's not something I've ever seen or heard of before. Have you tried reading the code(s) with the OFT itself? If there is no code to be read via OFT's code reading feature, I don't think there is anything to worry about. I have never used the Torque Pro application so I can't confirm it's functionality

SHIV,
I track the car and keep the rpm's very high. How reliable/safe are your OTS map?? Are u advancing timing to a dangerous level just to achieve HP? When i ran the Mugen ECU on my S2000 they required their thermostat to keep factory reliability. Do your maps keep factory reliability?

As long as you are using premium grade fuel, there is no safety issue with running these NA engines hard. No additional mods necessary.

What HP gains can be expected from your latest stage one map on 93 octane?

This link will provide you the info you need on how we achieved ~16whp and ~11wtq Gain with just our tune: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46468

If you add more mods to the car you will pick up additional gains. Any questions feel free to let us know.

After I loaded the new OFT Manager I plugged in my OFT to the car to check out the new Data logging feature. I went into the calibration menu, now my OFT freezes at the selection menu. Each time I plug it in it will ask to recalibrate then freeze at the selection menu. Not sure what happened and how to fix. Please advise.
