I'm not an expert here on tuning by no means, but just to add my experience with 1.33 maps. Right after flashing when I had the car idle a bit and close all the windows, I can hear a knocking. Not sure if this is the "knocking" you guys are talking about, but it didn't exist in 1.31.

This is at idle. I'm going to flash back and see if I hear it, but yeah it's really strange now when I sit in the car, I know for a fact that it was not there previously.

A little extra info:
The engine is completely cold, I didn't start it for 2 days, started the engine up, turned off the engine but left it at on, flashed from 1.31 to 1.33. Turned the engine on after flashing succeeded. closed all my doors so I can let the car idle, and as the RPMs began to warm up the car, you can hear this knocking sound above the engine's normal whine and belt noises. just a constant knock in an interval of just a little under 1 second.

Not sure if this was described by anyone, but i'm going back to 1.31 and see what's up. (my 1.31 is when it was still 1.31b -- if it makes a difference).

Edited:
1.31 and 1.31b has no difference, same date
Will reflash and report my findings within 20-30 mins.

K series tuned rom support should be available by the end of the day tomorrow.

There are no changes in the mapping that would cause any difference in engine sound. What you are likely hearing is just the normal sounds of a direct injection system. I think you, like many others, are just listening more closely to things now.

Probably, just reporting my findings. Back at 1.31b and at idle there isn't anything, I'm going to go over and re-flash once more.

Though I did hear a difference. At first I thought maybe the clutch (since the transmission has a bit of movement) so I clutched down. no difference. I'm going to reflash once more.

Your responses are always appreciated =) Not knocking anything, just going to re-test.

You make a good point, just testing again to verify =)

I just finished re-testing 1.33b, but I may stick with 1.31. Even after the pedal checks for both, the 1.31 had better pedal response. Other than that, engine sounds the same again. Must have been due to the engine being extra cold over 2-3 days. After being around the block it's back to normal.

Sigh. . didn't realize we were on a Nascar forum with the "bubba" comments. In any case, since it appears you didn't want to search or to correlate information from different posts/threads, here's a thread that provides dyno charts with gains comparing stock vs Vishnu OFT tunes. The only modification is a muffler delete which makes this comparable to a bone stock car: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4700

Yes there will be an XDF released as well. Not all the tables will be defined. Just the ones that are useful for most tuning work. I do all the XDF work manually so going through the entire list of tables takes a huge amount of time.

Thank you for the reply and I agree when trying to color smoke at times you can confuse the but this did give the smell of rich too but a catch can is never a bad idea so I agree trying that first is not a bad idea at all. Thank you for getting back to me on it.

On a side note could you pm me if it's easier on my maf scaling question regarding the air raid vs stock. I just want to know your thoughts and what if any changes should be made.

Thanks again.

I had to rescale my OFT tune for my intake too but before I did I also looked at the OFT Airaid tune for reference and that one didn't have the MAF rescaled which I thought was different. I guess you can change the fueling to get to the same place? If you get a reason from Shiv can you post or forward pm to me - thanks.

When datalogging is enabled, it will be reasonably easy to rescale the MAF sensor to work with whatever intake you want. I'll go over that in a how-to thread when that time comes. Since I don't have the time to create custom MAF sensor tables for all the available sensors, I am only able to support the stock intake box at this time. But when modified (drop in foam filter and modified duct), it outperforms every other intake I've tested thus far in NA application.

Got my OFT in the mail about a week ago and installed the v1.33 (beta) Stage 1 Map (A01C) a couple of days ago. Once I get a few more driving cycles in with it, I'll post up my butt dyno results.
