I did exactly this, and still got 1cm of dead travel. Slightly annoying at stoplights.

There's always a little bit of dead space. I'm guessing you're just more aware of it because you're looking for it.

What you are describing is VVT disabled just after flashing. That is normal if you do not let your car idle for a bit after the flash process.

With the windows up and a good ear i can hear it. Once logging is enabled it will be easier to clarify. As shiv said, you are referring to vvt being disabled. Feels like the car is gutless. Different thing.

So on a side note, this product isamazing. Car should have driven like this from the start. Pulls like a train and my exhaust tone sounds sexy

So many different threads for OFT lol.

We Shiv I see why some of my questions from the other thread did not get answered, I had not stumbled into this thread. Thank you for the information here, I will start looking for threads on specific topics but a central thread would be really nice to have just for updates etc.

Either way thank you for addressing the issues found so far, hopefully with the E85 posts you have made I can soon tell those looking into the OFT here in AZ with all the E85 we have available soon we can run it in our vehicles.

Thanks

Ok I got to test the Beta Stage 2 and I must say everything is much smoother down low. You really have done a great job, its a nice improvement.

I did notice one thing today when I took it on the track, car has not hit the 5k service yet and I play but not that often. However if I ran the course then shut the car down after driving back to the pits it put out black smoke the next time I started it up and a very noticable amount but after that it was fine.
However if I let it run for a few minutes after I got in the pits nothing it was fine.

I am going to have them look the car over when I go in for service as it could easily be something else. But I felt it might help to have that information out there. (I have to put back on the factory catted header and midpipe as well as light weight pulley before I take it in though)

Also it would be nice if the high idle on cold start to warm the cat's was lessened. I want to play with that section as well but I can't data log yet so I can only ask you. Plus I am sure a few others wouldn't mind that either.

I haven't touched the cold start idle mapping myself but there has been enough request to tweak it for lower rpm targets. I can do this on the next map release.

Also, the ransoms puffs of black smoke during track days is normal for flat-4 suby engines. Comes from sustained heavy G loading. Nothing to worry about although you will see more of with test pipes since cats tend to hide the smoke. The same thing happens to flat-6 Porsche engines btw. I suspect this is one reason catch cans are so popular.

Glad you are enjoying the maps and giving them a run at a racetrack!

Isn't black smoke fuel? How would a catch can help this?

maybe the oil going back into the intake hurts combustion causing you to run rich

Excuse my simple question but i am not familiar with vishnu products. What are actual gains on a stock car running your stage one map? Or even better, could u provide a dynograph. Thanks.

Did you even bother to read the first post? Dyno graphs are posted there.

During hard cornering, oil sloshes to the valve cover(s) an gets sucked up by pcv breathers and into the intake. The oil gets burned and causes short periods of smoke. Black and blue smoke get mixed up at times so I don't put too much confidence is color descriptions when it comes to smoke. Especially when I know that black smoke (from running too rich) could only be caused by a bad injector which is very unlikely.
