Nice! I meant "these days". I REALLY wanted a baby blue 2011 WRX when Subaru announced that there would be a new color added to the lineup for that year. Subaru loves their shades of gray, though.

I also like cyan blue type of colors:

I'm sometimes surprised at how blue our 10 series is in the right light. Just find a way to always have that light with you. That's an untouched photo.

Judging from this thread, I can't wait for the 2015 models to come out.

I really hope you're right. My RSX-S seats are leather and feel comfortable for the most part and look great, but overall for a performance car they are impractical. You slide on hard turns and they crack (and even more quickly when you don't use Lexol, etc.)

This trim level sounds great. I love the HID's, wouldn't want the gray color of the 10 series, and prefer the FRS front to the BRZ.

Well technically the 2014 model DID come with these features. Also, if someone was willing to pay more, like if the 10 Series and Monogram Series were released at the same time, then why not? It's all about choices. If you're told you have none and you settle for what's "exclusive" because that's what's available to you, but then something you want more comes out months later, you were basically denied that choice.

The other reason I went with the BRZ Limited in Crystal Black Silica was because I knew it would be more exclusive. Scion was projecting to sell 4x more FR-S than the Subaru BRZ.

I can see why people would complain who just bought the 10 Series. There are also others like me who would've gladly bought a GT-86 Limited if it were AVAILABLE.

The other problem with this is that it's throwing Scion's pricing past their "inexpensive" brand image. Won't this Monogram most likely be one of the most expensive Scion? I know not much of the brand, but $30k (or anywhere near that) for a Scion sports car seems like its REALLY missing the point.

I'm of the camp that feels these cars were priced a little high anyways.

I love the car I bought. It puts a smile on my face every time I drive it every day. The fact that another version is out that has a slightly nicer interior and is probably more expensive does not diminish what I already own in the least bit. If I wanted all the extra doo-dads I would have just gotten the BRZ.

I love my 2013 FR-S.

No I do not have the same logo. There is nothing but Toyota and Subaru plastered all over the interior of my car.

Scion does nothing but add nasty features to the cars. Glowing logo? Glowing dashboard cover?
First, you might as well take those Toyota badges off all together, because the car is more SUBARU than anything. Since you don't live in Japan, Europe, Australia or anywhere else that the car is branded as Toyota, just get used to the fact that you are driving a SCION. should have just bought the BRZ if you really didn't like brand image from Scion. secondly, its your opinion that you do not like the scion image or the features that scion adds to the car, and thats great! my opinion is anyone who buys a scion and then pretends its a Toyota from another country is a poser that is still driving a scion.

LOL! This was my other debate: "Do I buy a Scion and pose as a Toyota or buy a BRZ and pose as a Toyota?"

I had half a mind to make my BRZ a Scion. hahaha At the end of the day it really boils down to design, bank account and brand loyalty. I preferred the Scion's looks, I could afford the BRZ easily, and I hated the Scion brand image (as it's portrayed in Alaska).

Having to deal with the local Toyota dealership often (since I like them and their shiny, new facility over my old Subaru dealership that's under new management), I'm growing a fondness for Scion with each visit.

Don't get started with the Subaru/Toyota argument...

I know your opinion counts and I respect that.

However, your opinion made a subjective assumption toward the people you are targeting. These people, like myself, are not "pretending" that this car is a Toyota, nor other Scions. We put the Toyota emblems to portray our connection to the heritage of the brand.

And how is it pretending, when 90% of Scion cars are essentially Toyotas in other markets in the same sense early Lexus models were? Just because we don't live in those places/markets, doesn't mean the car seizes existence as a Toyota

If you want to start calling out names about who's pretending to have what, maybe you should consult with the guys putting Ferrari emblems on their FR-S or to the people making exotic car body kits for 2nd-Gen MR2's?

Just my opinion...

Yeah I can feel for those that may feel cheated a little. It's really about the timing not the features, the 10 series basically just came out only a few months ago and with the 2014 standard features already announced there was not a single peep about anything else coming down the line. I jumped at the chance to get the additional features of the 10 series (didn't want the BRZ front), and luckily I was happy with the color. But if I'd had the choice between glow badges/solar knob/light-up console and an armrest and my exact choice of color, I'd have done the monogram. I love my lights and climate and updated HU, but I'm neutral about the other three and would trade them easily for other features. I'm not unhappy at all, I just would have liked the choice. They should have launched them together.

Imagine if Subaru had launched only the premium trim and then months later offered the limited. People would be just as annoyed.

I, like most (I think) love Toyota and respect the heritage, but would have preferred the car come from Toyota here in the US instead of Scion. But the reality is it does not, thats all I was confirming with my opinion is that the car is available to us as Scion and will always be a Scion no matter of just changing the emblems, its the brand it was given here in the US and I have just accepted that I bought a scion and I am driving a scion albeit a brother/sister to toyota.

"Early 2014" is a vague term and sounds like it'll only be coming in several months in advance of the 2015 refresh anyways. This is not standard for the 2014 model, so it isn't really comparable to our 2013 FRS' since it another 'exclusive' sounding offer.

The FRS can still be had at Scion's 'inexpensive' price with virtually identical features to the first year cars, they just now offer an upscaled model for a higher premium. Of course this is attractive to some, but again, the differences between this and the BRZ Premium will be negligible from the sounds of things.

To each their own, but in my opinion people shouldn't get so worked up about being exclusive. If having a car that is harder to come by than the FRS was important enough to sway your buying decision, I don't see why the Scion having a comparable trim at the same price as the BRZ Premium would have mattered. If your car being exclusive is so essential to your identity, modify it yourself so that it's actually unique.

And people seemed to be buying the 10 series for the exclusiveness of having one of 2500 cars or however many. If that was their goal then they achieved it. What else did they believe? That they'd have the best stock FRS' on the road for the foreseeable future? For what was given with the 10 series they were paying more for image than features.
You missed the point of my line of reasoning. Technically, since the Monogram is being released in 2014 as a 2014, it IS the 2014 model. haha

Otherwise, yes, I agree with you. I have modified my BRZ to have GT-86 interior and working on the STI bits as well. I love it. The problem is releasing so many exclusives within so little time of each other. The car is JUST NOW two model years old. It's crazy, right?

I appreciate your feedback. This is good.
