finally a configurator! But I do think it is still missing the normal options/accessories available for other Subies. That rear diffuser is really pulling our pockets! Why $700!!! $400 or less would've been a lot better.

I guess I'll just go for a "base" Limited MT.

If anyone ever finds true functionality use for the rear diffuser, please post ASAP.

To make it worse, her hair is black! You won't see it until its too late.

In the summer we keep her cut pretty short since we live in Atlanta, but yea she sheds about a poodle's worth of hair every day. We have an army of Roombas to pick it up.

No wing delete, deal breaker, unless you guys can show an old man, an aftermarket option. Or I will be waiting for the STI.

There's a lot to do on the BMW site, but the problem is that adding any options suddenly bumps the MSRP several thousand dollars, especially because most of the good things that you want are bundled into a package with other stuff that you may not want or need.
It also adds complexity to the manufacturing process to have so many customizations available, so even if you don't select a single option you are paying for others' ability to do so. By having only a few grades to select from and no individual options they can reduce the complexity of the assembly line and so reduce the cost of the entire car. That is why you see more expensive cars have tons of individual customization options, but cheaper cars generally just have a few if any.

I like the billet battery hold down bracket and the oil cap.

Don't get me wrong, I understand why it's done. But there's are things bundled into a package that I'd expect to be standard equipment on cars of that caliber (and price). Just looking at a Cayman S (which already starts at $62,100), does it have HIDs as standard equipment? Nope, you have to get the $2,230 Convenience Package to get them (though it includes other stuff that most people probably could care less about, particularly the "Porsche crest on headrests"). However, it is a stand-alone option at $1,560, but I bet that most HID-equipped Caymans that are sent here already have the entire package. And that's just headlights. Granted at this price point, people who can afford these can still afford them with another few thousand in options without sweating much, but you'd think that HIDs would be standard.

I hate having to have a garage door opener in my car. I have HomeLink in my Eclipse and it is so nice because it's nicely integrated with the car and it's always in the same spot. Plus, there are two others which you can program if you go to different garages or have a gate (if the neighborhood/complex lets you program it). Although I prefer it on the visor rather than the rear view mirror but I'm definitely getting it.

Yeah, I negotiated it in to my last Subaru as well. It's nice to have access to multiple doors without having to have a bunch of "stuff" in the car. Definitely worth it.

Right there with the 65/35% split fold rear seat. Ooops!

You'd be surprised, people still hate paying extra for things they won't use... It's hard trying to sell a Porsche or other high end car out of stock. Wrong color? "Find me another one." Navigation system? "Too much money; find me another one." Doesn't have the $6,000 options package full of shit that I'll never use more than once for the novelty of it? "Find me another one."
