Oh boy! And I hear Harley has got a sedan in design sage as well. Gee, I just can't wait. ..... How sad.

Damn, a whole lot of FR-S owners seem to be insecure, snobbish little asshats.

Lexus cars tend to be overweight, full of luxury junk that a prospective 86 sport sedan buyer might not want, like leather interiors, power/heated seats, and a bunch of electronic driver assistance nannies.

Substantial portions of the suspension system/geometry are derived from the WRX. The car is closer to "Subaru chassis with Toyota body kit" than "Toyota chassis with Subaru engine" (although neither statement is truly accurate).
No such thing as a 4 door GTR though.

This whole name thing is quite ridiculous. First it was BRZ vs. FR-S now its FR-S vs whatever the sedan is going to be called?

Regardless of what it is called. I would love to see this car made. The biggest reason I decided to get a twin instead of one of the newer bmws was because of weight. A low price light weight rwd sedan that is exciting to drive would be a god send to enthusiast that need a legitimate back seats. None of the cars mentioned on this thread fit that bill (wrx, evo, is, camry???(WTF!)).

Meh, manufacturers like to have similar styling cues across their models, helps make them easily identifiable, it seems like the LFA is the baseline for Toyota's near term styling.

I think it looks nice, but honestly, I didn't see anyone asking for this. Nobody ever looks at my car and says, "well, it would look better if you made it a hatchback (I know, I know, shooting-brake), or a sedan".

But they do tell me it would be a sexy convertible and I think that the thing that prevented a lot of people from buying was the power. If (and this is a big if) these rumors are true, then I would be interested in finding out who Toyota is talking to.

How about a liftback/hatchback version? The lines are already there. It would look similar to the shooting-brake but be easier to load. Anyone?

i see the liftback. i like it. i also like sedan.
sedan is primarily gonna b aimed at all the supra/rx7/ae86 ppl (ie/ ppl who are now in their 40's and have the money). it makes sense from a marketing standpoint. midlifecrysis as well. all that jazz.

as for power. the car was designed to be modified, hence the low price point for north america. this will become more apparent as the modding community grows and becomes more vocal.

im sure there will be a v6 option for the sedan as well (allowing even more possibilities for all of the current owners).

Ha ha good one!
I know you're not serious....are you?
But seriously,
Scion should sponsor a "Name the FR-S 4-Door Contest"
The winner wins a set of Bilstein Smart Shocks or a free 4-door whatchamacallit, with the 4 runners-up winning a set of the intelligent Bilsteins.
Come on Scion come off that green for us Americans.
