I wont be parting out the car. It was signed over to the insurance company (icbc) its there car now im asuming its at some auto wrecker in the surrey area now. I dont have the cash to buy back the salvage and im not to sure how that works either or if the parts would be worth it. Im just using my icbc payment and extra insurance from ultmarisksolutions and getting a new one next week.

Thanks for sharing...

The stock BRZ is showing itself to be pretty hair trigger in the loss o' grip department where any trace of water or dampness is involved. I've had two such occurrences myself, originating in maneuvers that "should have been" about 70%, not really even going for it, hence total shock and awe. In my case roads were slightly damp in spots, tires fully warm. My previous performance cars have never had an issue like this.

My sympathy. There but for the grace of a few extra yards of asphalt, went I. My nannies were off (via trac switch, 5 seconds), fwiw. I don't think it would have made a difference either. My corrections are pretty quick and had very little effect. It's like one end or the other of the car (I've had one each) goes from full grip at 70% to almost zero, instantly.

This feels like a tire issue to me. My car has the HP Primacies.

The OEM tires suck in any wet conditions even if the TC/VSC are on. I can pull out of a driveway from a stop and get the back to come out if there is any water on the road.

Also, at speed in the wet they give no warning when they are going to let go.

I'm calling insurance fraud! You just wanted a different color!

J/K! Seriously though, glad you're both ok!

In a weird way it is nice to see that the safety features/crumple zones do their job and do them well. Makes me feel safer; however, still sucks to see the poor girl all mangled up.

Everyone blaming the cars for the wet handling issues not their driving changes in irregular conditions. I don't see spinning Prius's all over town when its wet. Even with 235's my car it will still kick around if you aren't careful.

Sorry to hear about your lose of the car, I would be pretty devastated. Glad you both are okay, accidents happen.

You cant compare a twins over steer with a Prius just because they have the same tires...
