Put check valves in hoses to keep the positive pressure contained to the intake manifold/ic piping. They are cheap.
So if I understand correctly, I will need to add two check valves:
first one on the hose that goes between PCV catch can outlet and intake manifold and the second one on the hose between the breather catch can outlet and air intake inlet, correct?

also, I know the flow direction ( assuming they both need to be added after the outlet ) but how can I tell the flow direction on the check valves? can you recommend a good quality 1/2 " check valve? I believe there are some metal ones like the one I posted..

Thanks again

Valve will have an arrow on it. Many people on here use these:

Did I understand where I need to put the valves correctly?

Also Can I simply use the 3/8" valves with 1/2'' hose?

Yes, it is necessary for YOU. For most people, it's not necessary, but definitely good to have.

Under cornering, you will get oil that pools on the driver side of the engine, and pushed out the breather, into your intake tract.

If you have time, take off your intercooler or intake piping, and see if there is a layer of oil. I'll bet there is.

Do auto parts stores like O'Reilies (spelling?) / Autozone / Advanced sell these?
If not, who does?

Correct. Vented cans generally aren't connected to the intake manifold, so they don't need to worry about seeing boost.

You only need one check valve. Place the check valve between the intake manifold and your catch can. Remember that hose actually changes in size as it transitions from the intake manifold (larger) to the hose barb (smaller) on the block.

That's what I thought, just wanted to double check. Thanks

the KW thread has turned into a treatise on check valves..

1) you don't need a check valve if you are venting the block(or valve cover) to atmosphere/catch can. the PCV check valve is only there because the pcv line connects into the intake manifold for emissions compliance reasons (no venting to atmosphere). if the vent line connects to somewhere it wont see positive pressure on the outlet side(ie catch can or atmosphere), then you dont need a check valve.
4) the factory PCV might leak a tiny bit of air if the pressure delta on the inlet and outlet side of the line is over 10-15psi...but i won't cause any appreciable drop in system boost or performance what we have seen on the dyno.

IIRC I have used 11/32" between catch can and valve, and 1/2 " between catch can and intake manifold so I am not sure about the size of the check valve that needs to be used on the 1/2" hose..
Thanks again

Are you referring to the catch can or check valve?
for the record I have dual catch can on both PCV and breather tube

Thanks in advance
