Centrifugal compressors can get pretty noisy the closer you get to the surge line. A restricted air filter would cause operation closer to the surge line than with a filter that's not restricted.

I would suggest doing a boost leak check.

No, just cleaned it when I installed the oil cooler and make sure that it's tight.

So long as there are no leaks, loose clamps, etc. there should be nothing wrong but if the noise is audibly different, something would have changed to now hear the intake more.

Did you notice this sound before or after the oil-cooler installation? Not saying the two are tied together but in removing the bumper, etc. something could have been bumped or loosened during the installation.

Yes sound was already there before the cooler.

By the way @KraftWerks, what is your opinion about some of the guys in here that are saying that we need a check valve for the intake manifold. I was hoping you guys can give us a solid answer to put the issue to bed. Thanks in advance.
