Just dynoed my car today. 182 whp on a mustang dyno. 214 whp corrected to dyno jet. Car is knocking

How can you confirm that it's knocking?....There must be something wrong with your car...something probably is not installed correctly ...first thing I would check is that your rotrex oil lines are not hooked up backwards....if they are, you will more than likely need a new charger

The supercharger noise, intake suction, belt noise WAS fine. But I will recheck for leaks again, but I'm boosting fine at 9psi unless the recirc valve isn't working properly. Now the noise only comes on when I give it gas, with load. For example, If I'm going up hill, I leave the rpms at 3k, and I gas a little, not enough to be boosting, I can hear the noise and recreate it on demand pretty much. But once I give it more throttle and when it picks up speed, it's gone. If ur watching the video on ur phone, it's not gonna be as distinct as a real speaker. Just an FYI. Now the belt noise is recent. Looks like after I posted my video, some others have followed and posted exact noise from what I've got. I'm running the smooth idler pulleys, and like I said, waiting for the cogged ones to be in stock from kraftwerks. I have remeasured the adjustable idler pulley to 21mm stated in the manual, but the noise is still there, it wines louder now cause i tightened it but now it almost sounds like there is a skip in the wine noise. Like a tick. Hard to explain. After the dyno numbers from today, I wasn't pleased. They dyno guys says there is knocking / or bad detonation at 6k rpm, So I have to get this figured out soon, track day is coming up. I'll be getting it dyno tuned by someone local here and try to sort that out. Another issue I have, and please chime in if others are having this issue. Going uphill on 1st gear if it's engaged under 2k rpm, are u guys able to let the rpms climb? Cause I can't. It studders and putts like a broken car. I would have to clutch in and hold the throttle above 2k rpms and the re-engage 1gear. It's pretty bad. I'm am new to FI. As I'm stock, I will be getting future mods like headers, exhaust, proper tune. I'm running kraftwerks c30 charger, with the kraftwerks base map, with a all stock car except a muffler delete, on 94 octane chevron gas up here in canada. Oil is 5-30 synthetic. Secondly, that sound you posted and the description seems like something is hitting under load. Take a careful look at everything. Finally, have you done any data logging? Something just seems way off with your tune . I'd confirm that you don't have the wrong tune, reload it if it is correct and data log some driving. Try to create the issues briefly. There are entry of guys here that can go through it and see what's up. Oh, and gmsii is from Kraftwerks. |
