Alcantera would be tempting, but then I'd need to do the wheel, and the shift boot, etc.

The silver is not that bad in person.

You are correct. It is NOT fake CF, but the grill pattern repeated. It also looks better in person than in pictures IMHO.

Right? People are so ignorant. I didn't even get the impression of fake CF in the first place, so it took me a while to figure out what people were referring to.

I'm probably gonna wrap it in a carbon fiber overlay while the car is at the clear bra shop. it'll cost like 30-60 bucks total and get rid of the silver which contrasts the rest of the interior so poorly...

Sorry guys, but this still looks like fake CF to me. It looks like it's supposed to be weaved. If you know of a better picture could you post it? I hope your right about the grill image in the dash but even after looking at the pics again I don't see it.

This pic shows whats behind that dash panel for those worried about an air bag.

I should have looked for the SRS text on the car I was in but it never crossed my mind
A few cars we've taken apart at our shop have lots of wasted space behind panels. The "empty pockets" look like support for the dash... To help keep the shape.

I know the dash piece is covering the airbag, but I wonder if it's possible to make a thin replacement panel out of carbon fiber; the Scion imitation carbon piece looks just as cheap as the silver piece IMO.
You're coming from an AUDI, an upscale luxury brand where material quality matters.
You're expecting the materials of something bordering on cheap econobox to have Audi levels of quality?

When stepping down in quality, the first things you tend to notice is how cheap everything else is in comparison to what you're used to. I didn't interpret that as an expectation of quality from the BRZ as much as it was a reference to lesser quality materials.

Just throwing that out there.

I don't really get the point of posting the first 2 pictures from an FR-S in a BRZ Forum. The third one is cool though.

Uhhhh, because people are talking about replacing the BRZ silver dash part with the one from the FR-S, and are debating about what it looks like?

No, I wasn't at all. The BRZ costs half what the S4 does; I'd be delusional to expect it to be that nice. I'm just using it as a point of reference for what I'd like to try to make the BRZ more like, with a little creativity. Take the painted silver trim bits off and replace them with actual metal or carbon fiber and BOOM: instant upscale interior!

I don't see any reason to replace the panel, I thought the silver panel keeps the style of the interior in the right flow.
