This is pretty cool, thanks!

One might consider this too:http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-25ec...&storeId=10051

Ppl use it to skin their laptops I've seen it in person, and it's pretty nice. Washable and you can reapply it easily too!

I like the DI NOC idea. Simple and easy. Plus easily removable later on I'd assume.

Anybody thinking a silver carbon fiber? It keeps some of the original feel with more flair. Thoughts?

All of these trim pieces annoy me; they're just plastic made to look like metal by painting them silver/chrome. And that faux carbon trim piece around the window switches looks even cheaper! Coming from an Audi with real aluminum and carbon fiber trim everywhere, I wonder how hard it would be to reproduce these parts in actual metal, or to make replacement parts in carbon fiber. I know the dash piece is covering the airbag, but I wonder if it's possible to make a thin replacement panel out of carbon fiber; the Scion imitation carbon piece looks just as cheap as the silver piece IMO.

For me it's the big expanse of silver on the right that bothers me. And the black rectangular radio bezel in the middle of it. I could have lived with the other silver fiddly bits.

I don't know if any of you guys in this thread are Subaru guys, but it's almost guaranteed the silver yuck will be gone on the second production run. They did it with the WRX's and STi's. It's almost like Subaru does whatever they fuck they want on the first production run, then everyone on the forums bitch, so they change it.

It seems to happen on every new vehicle Subaru puts out.

Nothing behind those panels really... The airbag is on top of dash. You can find photos of the bare race models..l. Just empty pockets...

I think it is funny how that silver plastic shuffleboard on the dash seems to draw the ire of so many people when they see it in pictures. I'm guilt as charged as well.

Maybe it is because my time in the car was very limited, but it did not bother me. In fact I hardly noticed it. You could say, "Well, sure you would not notice the silver piece. You were too busy checking out the rest of the car, or too busy driving it." True, but that trim piece is huge relative to the rest of the details in the interior. It just didn't bother me in the car, and I take that as a good sign!

If it does annoy me in the future, I'll just have it repainted with Kama Sutra images all over. Mainly because in general: horny wife > not horny wife.

If that's true then that's great news! I'd definitely want to make a replacement piece from carbon fiber, or paint the existing piece piano black. I love the interior layout of the car, just not the quality of some of the materials. I think the BRZ has the capability of looking like a much more expensive car with some nice interior and exterior tweaks.

We don't know that. The "empty pockets" don't make much sense from a packaging perspective (ie it would make sense to use it for storage instead of just holding air) and could well but the space the airbag occupied before it was removed.

I should have looked for the SRS text on the car I was in but it never crossed my mind

I would be more than happy with some of that 3-D Caron Fiber weave I saw in the Audi S8, S6, and RS5! The interiors of those cars were painfully good-looking!

The fundamentals of the BRZ's interior are very good. I can see this car as the first time I ever modified the interior.

I'll be doing a carbon fiber vinyl personally. I never got around to it in my 08 STi but I want to do it in there as well.

Where is everyone getting the idea the texture is a fake cf look? Isn't it just the shape of the grill vents repeated on the inside. I dunno, I'm just going off from pics I've seen so someone who's actually sat in the FRS can correct me.
