Im pulling them and painting them. Actually, I'm ordering the FRS parts and painting those. Gonna put silver ones aside. This way I'll also know where the tabs are at... I'm getting the SWP, but I always wanted a blue car, so I'll probably paint the parts WR Blue. Might as well order the fender grill from FRS too.

And why order the Scion parts? I work at a bodyshop, and we get double the discount from Toyota compared to Subaru, lol.

from what i remember they are easy to remove, so;
1, you could swap for the FRS textured black panels as an option.
2. cover them in any materials you wish. ie vinyl, prints, etc.

I actually like the FR-S black panel better. It would also be nice to have it covered in padding and leather with the same red stitching as the seat.

Lol I wonder why I never thought of reupholstering the panels. I thought panel, screen, and maybe gauges...., smh lol.

Guy at my shop can cover it, but he'd probably charge me, while paint won't cost me at all. Would be interesting experiement though if I have time.... Thanks for more ideas, lol

Nothing about the interior really screams high quality to me, but this is not a big deal - this isn't a luxury car, and it is not marketed as such. And I'm probably in the minority because I actually like the silver. It accents the rest of the little silver touches around the interior.

Seeing it in person today at the NY Auto Show... it looked better than the FR-S dash which was all black. The quality of plastics the BRZ had also seemed to be a bit better as well.

Where do you buy automotive alcantara anyway? It'd be super annoying if the colour didn't match the rest of the interior. :P

Nobody else with me that covering that with alcantara and having a bit of red stitching (like the white stitching from http://int.alcantara.com/#/en/menu/a...ons/automotive) to match the rest of the car would be sharp as hell?

It's funny but the silver around the shift boot doesn't bother me but that large flat expanse of silver on the dash just looks out of place, IMHO.

I'm wondering if there's an airbag behind this panel...

The Alcantara site listed above doesn't list the USA, mostly Euro countries. Odd.

But You can find it on eBay - remnants too.

I considered that too...but can't imagine that plastic piece hitting you with the force that an airbag generates...assuming the bag is up on the dash further right. But we'll have to be careful digging around in there for fear of screwing up the airbag.
This is going to be fun seeing what everyone does with this panel.

Yeah, but I thought that the plastic panel could have seams on the backside that almost went through the part - in order to provide a clean break out of the air bag.
