M3 only comes first because I'm a BMW nut. Most people wouldn't logically put it there I don't think, at least not that model year.
That would be the only logical reason to put it first aside from interior space and utility, the Boss 302 is the fastest, the elise is the nimblest, the cayman the best track/other car, and the GT the best drag/GT/abuse car.

I've actually got more experience driving an Exige than I do an 86. Not enough time in either to compare the handling, though. But I can easily say the Exige is more fun. The smallness increases the sensation of speed and that supercharger produces the sound of the feeling of an orgasm.

Cayman S. Almost bought a new one too if it weren't for the pesky wife and her "backseat" requirement.

Elise. Can make it slightly more civilized with a couple pounds of upholstery. Though I wouldn't mind the M3. Actually maintenance might be a lot of money on that car.

BMWs are surprisingly easy to work on... sure, some parts carry a premium, but they aren't as expensive as people make it out to be.

The M3 is the best choice if you can only own one car, but as a weekend toy makes no sense.

Hah no the backseat requirement was more a safety precaution if ever I had to take one of our daughters somewhere, and the baby hauler was not home.

That said, I've never once had to put the car seat in once. Again just a precaution.

At the end of the day, you probably get roughly about the same bang for less buck. I've never driven a Caymen, just speculating.

Cayman S. I was pretty well postured to buy one when I started giving more and more consideration to the twins. The practical side of me went for the FR-S which I don't regret but the Cayman still holds a place in my heart.

+1 if you want a trackable car. I myself will probably never track a car but still agree.

Unless you have broad shoulders. I just don't fit in an S2000.
