The Scion Nav system sells for about $2000...$850 is a lot more cheaper (for some people) even if that means using your phone.
That's just for the xB/xD and the tC is slightly more. If they make one exclusively for the FR-S it would probably a few hundred more.

PnP kits will are not the same as OEM HIDs, I don't know one dealer that sells PnP aftermarket kits. Headlights have to be DoT legal; the projectors have to match the ballasts and all that. A good retrofit will cost at least $300 before labor. http://shop.lightwerkz.net/Complete-Retrofit-Kits And again, a true keyless entry system with push button start is about $350 before labor. http://www.advancedkeys.com/Prod_AK104B.html |

The FRS has halogen projectors and the brz has HID projectors. A plug and play HID kit will never be as good as a HID projector setup. The projectors are built for their application, so even with halogen projectors there will be a bad beam pattern and glare.

I agree that making something like this myself would be time consuming, but I was trying to say that the technology exists for manufacturers to make a double din carputer inexpensively. IMO Bespoke is outdated/overpriced. Last edited by DRACHENV6; 04-09-2012 at 08:50 PM. |

I agree that it shouldnt be used when driving, but I wouldnt call it null. If manufacturers decided to implement the tech and integrate it into their cars imagine how much better your driving experience would be... You can still use this for music, looking up restaurants, and junk, but the utility would be the programs that people will write.
If the platform is there, someone will find a way to integrate feedback from the car (OBDII, temp, oil, mpg, rpms)into usable data for the driver. With a pc the possibilities are endless. For example, imagine not having to build a guagepod because you can have a digital gauge on-screen, etc. There is alot of data to be had. Its not a perfect concept but the boot times for a system running windows 7 and SSD are less than 20 seconds. Even less if the computer hybernates or is running linux. |

Screw it, it looks like the best way to go now is get a BRZ limited, once they allow the VIP discount. |

BRZ definitely has auto leveling HID's as pointed out,
I know this because: It is law for Hid's because of the intensity, Cusco offers an auto leveling correction rod with their suspension goodies |

Wait, so if I get the JDM HID, does that mean that it'll have auto leveling included, or do you have to modify even more of your car to get it to work?

Not to mention there may be some additional steps to get the auto leveling to work. If it works at all. |
