The Viper is no Radical or Atom. It's a special edition of a full road car. No supercar is meant as a daily driver.

Gentlemen, I think we've come full circle.

Cars are for roads and for racing. A Viper is a car. Are all Vipers cars? Are all races car races? Are roads for racing? What about road races?

it does 1 thing and it does it very well. If lap times are what you are after then this is the car.

I've driven the new viper GTS and its an impressive car. I could easily daily it, although if you have anything bigger than a 32" waist or have back problems you might have issues. Its a big step up from the previous vipers.

Vipers and Vettes are a terrible investment though. They were trying to charge $130k on new viper in 2013, now that same car can be had for 80k out the door.

Sure a regular SRT Viper isn't

The ACR/X are purpose built track cars (like and Atom or Radical).... hypercars/supers cars are not (no matter what they claim) as they are still intended for road use. When you start sacrificing basic car functions/essentials like lets say.... air conditioning, any and all sound deadening, the trunk... it's stops being a road car... Hell the last ACR-X wasn't even street legal

ACR and ACR-X are worlds apart. Although none of the cars you listed are really intended as dailys they certainly can be used for a night on the town. I am patiently awaiting a GT350R (with stereo and A/C) that will probably see at least 3000 miles a year on the street.

Yeah those ACR-X's a utterly bonkers

Yeah I saw a GT350 at the DC auto show and instantly fell in love with it lol. The R version must be completely insane.

Please let me know how that thing drives haha

It may be a while as I understand the street price is about 80K at the moment and I don't ever pay over MSRP.

2016 Viper ACR beats million dollar hyper cars in any track they've tested

Exactly how misleading are you trying to be with this post? MSRP for the base Viper (current generation) has never been above $100k. It's true that the base price was recently lowered about $5000, but what you're doing above is comparing the base model on sale NOW with the upper level GTS model, which was still nowhere near $130k. And a quick search on Cars.com shows that the cheapest Viper within 500 miles of me is a 2013 base model with 2600 miles for $75,000. New that car was maybe $90k. In fact there are a few very lightly used 2013 GTS models on sale now for $130k+, so those have actually increased in value. Your depreciation argument is void. It's all invalid anyway, as the ACR model, much like the 911 GT3s, has very little depreciation.

It's okay to state you don't like the car, but you don't have to be dishonest to back up your opinion.

These cars will have very little depreciation if they are driven very little. Drive them 15k a year and their prices will drop quickly.

As will any car. But the Viper will still depreciate slower than the average car. Far slower, depending on the color, options, package, etc.

Just buy and extended depreciation package when you get the car. Problem solved.
