My first ding was the day after I got the car. I went to a mazda dealership with my sister so she could buy her new car. The Honda civic that parked next to didn't care enough to watch his door and hit my car. This left a small 1 inch ding on my baby not even a week into owning the car. My dad and I then decided to go to the dealership to see if they could do anything about it. Luckily the salesman was nice and took the car round back and minimized it making the ding a lot less noticeable.

OK so because im actually on the phone with toyota right now and im hold for a f*cking long time ill gladly tell you all about my "mishaps". bought the car in november 12, no incidents, scratches tickets etc until march. I was going through a phase where I thought I was mario andretti and always taking all the nannies off. It was a rainy day I was kind of tired and heading to the gym around 4 am. I took a turn quickly to try and slide a bit and low and behold an animal jumped out from the bushes causing me to try and swerve, started to spin out, tried to countersteer but i was nowhhere near skilled enough to correct it. hit the curb at like 15 mph, broke a control arm but drove away. 1500 dollar mistake, will never take off all nannies again unless im on a closed course drifting. sport mode works fine for dding. lesson learned. Next accident was last month. sitting at a stop light and got rear ended. awesome. the lady who hit me took her candy ass time to take care of the situation so my car sat in the shop for about a week. Finally got the car back, and as soon as I picked it up I noticed the abs light and the traction control active light, ( you know the light on top that comes up when you are losing control of the vehicle and traction control comes in to save your butt) were both permanently lit up. I restarted my car, still came on, I disconnected the battery terminals to restart the electronics, still came on. So I thought ok I gotta go in to toyota tomorrow and get this checked out this isnt right. (the collision center was by my parents house, so i stopped by to say whats good to my fam) I left and headed to my apt, when all hell broke loose. I was getting onto the freeway, a nice swooping circle, the one I normally can push at about 75-80, but i knew the car was acting off so i didnt hoon. took it at about 40. at the apex of the turn (turning right ) the car thought the back end was sliding out to the left, it was not at all, i believe that it was braking on the back right tire, which caused my car to point to the right coming dangerously close to the concrete wall which blocked the 100 foot drop to the ground under the onramp. Scared sh*tless I countersteered left and applied brakes. the ABS light being on had some effect on my brakes and the brakes instantly locked up with no brake pedal feedback, and i went into a spin, i countered right again and then left but i had lost it and i was completely sideways heading into the concrete barrier dividing the weave lane where cars get on and the freeway. I hit the barrier at about 20-30 mph. Fortunately i hit it literally head on and the airbags didnt deploy. At the time the adrenaline was so insanely intense I was glad to be alive but furious at myself and the car. A lot of factors at play here but I was just really frustrated because I know my skill as a driver, and its pretty good, but when I specifically leave all the nannies on I count on them to save my life, and to keep me from situations like what happened above. Fortunately I came out alive and well, but I didnt realize that I had a massive concussion. So thats my memory of the incident. I have an investigation with toyota and I havent had my car for over a month. Its pretty brutal. The lesson I learned from this was when your dash is lit up like a christmas tree dont drive, go straight to the dealer. very serious. So yea thats my life. 3 accidents in 1 year. insurance has already ruled me not at fault for that last accident. but it still blows ass. I still think that if the lady who hit me never had, none of this would have ever happened because clearly some of the sensors malfunctioned after my bumper was replaced. If you took the time to read this whole post feel free to comment or say im bullshitting and that i was trying to drift blah blah blah, i wasnt. When the investigation with toyota is over im going to post pics and results and the outcome because its pretty scary when the electronics in your car malfunction.

Truck kicked up a rock, sideways. Two lovely gashes just over the driver's side rear tire, just shallow enough not to rust, but ugly as sin. Estimate to get it fixed "properly"... $700.00. Mostly because of all the blending it would need. I bought a touchup pen and ordered a kit online that is supposed to work with it. The kit has something to prep the area prior to using the touchup pen, another chemical that smooths the touchup paint after it dries and a third one to seal it all. As soon as it stops raining here, I'll see how it works.

Since when? She caused damage, either she or the driver has to take responsibility.

Yeah you should of told the driver that he/she is responsible. Most likely its the driver's grandma and he/she should be ok with paying for the damage.

A giant rubber car stop was on the highway, the car in front of it hit it and knocked it over to me. It dented the metal plate under the motor and bent my exhaust

1st mishap was backing out of driveway at weird angle - edge of street curb hit the bottom of the car, scrapped the bottom tow hook and put a small scratch/dent in the skid plate under the engine. Sounded horrible but in reality, not a big deal.

I've had 2 issues that are worth talking about (unlike pulling too close to the curb when parking and scraping the bottom of the nose).

1. On vacation in S.F. in July. Parked in underground hotel garage all the time unless we were out. When we got home, noticed 3" long very shallow dent in psgr side rear quarter panel and mild scratches. Someone clearly opened their door into my fender and didn't bother to leave a note. I've gotten the scratches mostly out and the dent is only noticeable if you're looking for it.

2. Came out of my office for lunch and noticed psgr side front quarter panel had a dent at the front/top of the wheel arch, scratch across turn signal, and 3 scuffs of missing paint on side of front fascia. I've worked at the company for a long time, but nobody would cop to hitting it. It's possible it happened at my dealer the day before as I didn't look at the psgr side when I picked it up, but I have no proof of it. Local body shop was very helpful and fixed it back to as-new while keeping the total under the amount that would raise my insurance rate. (The initial estimate was slightly above that.) Just noticed yesterday that the front fascia isn't quite aligned perfectly - it is right on the psgr side, but on the driver's side it is sticking out too much in front of the headlight. I'm going to crawl underneath tomorrow to see if I can easily fix it. If not, the body shop has a lifetime guarantee on their work, so I'll have them check it out.

I hate it when my baby gets hurt!

Windstorm brought heavy branch down on my wife's SUV, puting deep crease across her hood. I dragged off branch and backed her car up -- right into front of my BRZ, popping her trailer hitch right thru BRZ bumper cover. Doh.
Local body shop appreciated the 2 cars at once business.
Did learn BRZ body parts are cheaper than I expected -- bumper cover was approx $300, which didn't seem too bad to me.

I've watch a guy back into my car, he even got out before to check if he had room and still managed to back into it.

Another is a guy riding a bike down a hill slammed into my passenger door. Thank god no damage

Last I got in a car accident last week. Some ho in a range rover slammed into me nearly totaling my car.
