Just realize you WILL fix it eventually, so do not stress out over it :] Your car is in one piece
Truth. Only you will really notice it because it's your car. Everyone else wouldn't. So no need to feel like you're suddenly driving a clunker. Hell a car not washed for a long time is a more naturally occurring and common scenario of which details people will really notice.

I have been disappointed with the paint on my FR-S as well. I've had it a little over a year with 3500 mi. and have found even bird crap stains hard to remove. About two months ago they resurfaced the roads around here with tar & chip and I found a number of stone chips on the hood that seemed to have the area around them affected in the clear coat. I thought maybe I was the only one. As for your damage, I've always found a little of the stress relieved after a new car gets it's first inevitable chip, ding, etc. But, that said, it is nice to try to keep it as perfect as possible.

Just let it go.

I had the bottom of my front bumper scratched by a window tint installer running it up on a curb. I made them fix it by taking it to the body shop and sanding/repainting it.

Less than two weeks after I got it back something was kicked up driving on freeway and left a similar spot (to OP's) on my bumper.

Damded if you do, damed if you dont. Its going to be impossible to keep your front bumper in perfect shape.

With a huge rock or piece of debris flying up at 50+ mph even a clear bra is not going to help most of the time.

I think my plan is to just drive the piss out of it and every like 4-5 years or so (or sooner if really needed) just take her to a body shop and make her look new again

I consider front bumper as wear-n-tear item. Slight bumper damage on race car is sexy.

I agree with most that in the long run .... it's bound to happen and it shouldn't ruin your day. BUT .... since it is a NEW car .... leaving that scratch would bug me. Every time I hand wash the car ... I would see that scratch. I would consider repairing it (dentless repair??? and minimal touch-up paint) and if you are going to keep the car for a long time ..... buy the protective clear front coating. This will help with resell later if that is your objective.

Good point. The way modern cars are made, the front bumper is just a plastic cover. Pretty easy to replace after 5-10 years of collecting chips, blemishes, etc.

Agreed! Its actually more fun to drive a "non-perfect" car, less worrying about it, more carefree driving !

Yup! I actually prefer to see a car that is driven.

Glickenhaus drives that one-off Pininfarina-bodied Enzo all over the place. On multiple continents.

Let's keep it in perspective.

Third day of owning the car I got a mark like that but it gouged into the bumper. It's very low, near the bottom of the bumper. Sucked that it happened so soon, but now i'll wait for more damage and then get it fixed.
