Hey mike can you please PM a few Coilover options. I am looking for a set that does NOT have pillowball mounts. I want rubber mounts as I will only be using my Coilovers for daily driving. I trust your advice. I am in 33029

The pillowball (spherical) top mounts won't really affect daily driver ride quality much if the coilover is quality.

I'd urge you to consider the Tein Flex-Z; they should be released in the next 4-6 weeks.

I'm holding out for the Tein Flex Z based on CSG's reviews as probably the best DD coilover.

This just popped into my head, maybe the wrong thread but maybe @Moto-P can help, if you match the perfect spring rate to the dampening force, you achive the critical damping ratio (~0.65). When you add adjustability, wouldnt that change the critical ratio? Or is the ratio more of a range thats acceptable given on road circumstances, i.e. higher ratio would be for track and a lower ratio would be on a street car.

After this post I think I want spring lol thanks @CSG Mike I will definitely hold off for those teins. Any idea what the ball park price range going to be ?

Just a minor correction. Critical damping is usually used to signify the overshoot/settling behavior of a system.

0.707 is usually what minimizes settling time. 0.65 is what people consider to be the holy grail of low speed damping. 1.0 is the softest damping that will generate no overshoot. For digressive setups, the high speed can be as low as 0.15 for street or 0.4 for small-bump tracks.

A well designed system will have rhe adjustments within that range. No need to be scared of the hard grit. If youre ever curious just ask Mike or go to the suspension model thread and as one of them! They'll definitely be able to point you in the right direction.

Thanks a lot man, I really appreciate and the helpfulness of this forum.

Definitely don't understand every single technical aspects of coilovers apart from preload and height adjustment but I WILL learn.
