Cops around here aren't THAT picky but if they need an excuse to pull you over, dark tint is a good excuse. In MD the law is 35%. However, 35% film is illegal as the car comes from the factory with a very light tint. I got pulled over once for tint on a previous car. I had 35% film. Cop took out his tester and total light transmission was 28%. I got a warning, as I was pulled over by a University of Maryland cop and I worked on campus. Unless the cop is a ****, you're fine with borderline tint. It's easy to play dumb. "But officer, the shop that installed it said it was 35% film, which I thought was the law." If you're cool and haven't done anything retarded, with borderline tint 9 times out of 10 you're alright.

Running 15% here and FL law is 15% in rear and 28% on front windows. Never had an issue and I have had cops comment on the car.

80% all around, though CA law states I shouldn't have anything on the windshield.

but it's SUPER hard to tell, obviously.
