Would it be possible to make top hats that lower the car while keeping the stock springs/dampers?

Second, unrelated question: With stock dampers and mild lowering springs (lets say RCE yellows), what would be the best way to get a lot (lets say 3 degrees) of negative camber in the front?

1. Yes, we did this for Impreza and would like to do it again. Lowered the car 3/8th of an inch without sacrificing bump travel.

2. For -3 degrees I'd go with camber plates. The HVT plates are good non-raising plates that work well with springs.

Thanks!
It is a hack, but quite frankly, it's a VERY cost effective one.

I believe they already exist! I think the fronts were either Ground Control or RCE, and Robispec makes the rear. There may be other options as well.

You can also lower the rear using OEM suspension via the Stance LCAs.

How can I increase Response, reduce set time, and improve feel?

How can I increase Response, reduce set time, and improve feel?

Springs: Stock FRS
Sways: Stock
Wheels: 17x8 SSR Type C
Tires: 225 AD08's
Bushings: Whiteline Rear subframe inserts, Megan motor mounts, Whiteline trans mount insert, Perring Shifter Bushing

Alignment : -1.5 Front (with me in the seat) 0.04" total toe
-1.0 Rear (with me in the seat) 0.07" total toe
whiteline front camber bolts

Looking for more confidence in the canyons and on track. Right now the car has more ultimate Grip than i feel comfortable using in the canyons and, to a lesser degree of course, on track.

If I had to describe it, it feels like it takes a little too long to take a set in the corner and there is not as much steering feel or feedback as i would like. So lots of grip but a little to vague to judge how much grip is left and a little slow to reach peak grip.

I had planned on doing RCE yellows, and RCE hollow sways, and whiteline rack bushings next. But, after my last trip to ortega (74) thanksgiving day..... i am leaning more towards:

RCE Yellows
W63414Trailing arm - lower front bushing
KCA434Control arm - lower inner front bushing (anti-dive/caster correction)
KCA436Control arm - lower inner bushing (camber correction)
KSR210Steering - rack & pinion mount bushing
New alignment with -2 front zero toe -1.5 ish rear with a little toe in.

I'm thinking the springs will give a bit more roll stiffness to quicken up the response and reduce the set time while adding a little more camber from the drop. Not sure if I would need the 436's with the yellows to get back to -1.5 - -1.8 ish.... The bushes i think will also increase response and feedback.

Am i on the right track? Suggestions? I'm not necessarily looking for more ultimate grip, as it has plenty right now, just more useable and predictable grip.

I've just installed coilovers and although the ride height was adjusted equally on the strut body, there was a difference of 5mm in actual ride height between front left and front right (driver side being 5mm lower even without driver).

If I were to readjust would you recommend doing each side equally? I mean raise one side 2.5mm and lower the other side equally. Or just adjust the difference on one side only and be done with it?

if you're adjusting for looks, then adjust each side individually until it's at the height that you want to. Make sure to do it with a weight equal to yourself on the front seat.

if you're adjusting for performance (kind of the reason to have coilovers), take your car to a proper race shop and ask to be corner balanced.

Responded to your PM, and some exerpts.

I'd recommend you get the TIC steering bushings, and the kartboy shifter/transmission mount. Neither are items we sell, but will tangibly increase response.

As for the rest, if you're not comfortable pushing the car, then don't mod it until the car is the limiting factor. Perhaps the cash would be better spent on some coaching and/or seat time.

If you want it cosmetically balanced, then it will not handle properly. Determine if you want it to be corner-weight-balanced, or if you want it to look even.

Question for the experts. What swaybars do you recommend with the bilstein b14 pss coilovers if any? The stockers may be sufficient but wondering if it would help handling with bigger bars. Thanks
