Hmm, perhaps I should go with a narrower wheel (17x8) and 215/225 tires? My Supra is going on track duty hiatus so the FR-S has to fill the daily and weekend track warrior role.

CSG/RCE: I need some input regarding coils and associated items. My car is mostly a DD, but I plan to do 6-8 HPDE weekends per year. I'm a newbie, though, and have only done one HPDE weekend so far.

Accordingly, I'm considering coilovers. As my car is mostly a DD, I don't want full racecar status. I'm looking for (relatively) quiet and compliant, and only plan to drop an inch at most. That being said, I also want something that will do well at the track, and offer enough headroom so that I can grow into them.

I've been looking at the RCE Tarmac 2s with front camber plates, paired with my current PSS 225s on stock wheels. (I may move to 17x9 with 245/40 later). I know that I don't need 2-way adjustment right now because I'm so inexperienced, but I like the idea of gradually working up to that level. I also don't want to cheap out because I would probably be kicking myself down the line for not doing it right the first time.

Are the T2s suitable for my purposes, or would I be better off getting a more street-friendly single-adjustible system like the B16s?

I do think the T2s would suit you well. Don't be intimidated by the 2 way adjustability...we can help you with set-up and it will be something that you can grow with. Stick with our baseline set-up at first and go have fun/learn. They are very much street friendly with sufficient headroom for most users. We have some packages with our RCE camber plates. Or you can stick with stock top mounts since you can get a decent amount of camber with the slotted lower mount of our coilovers. Plates are nice to have though.

Bilstein B16s would be a good fit as well...except I don't really like progressive spring rates. We'd be all about those otherwise.

I've meanwhile received KW competition coil-overs. (They are supposed to have a spring rate of 120 N/mm in the front and 100 N/mm in the rear. They initially suggested 120 N/mm on all fours and after I asked whether any softer would also be an option they reduced the rear to 100 N/mm).

I would like to purchase top hats for the rear coil overs (I don't want to disassemble the stocks).
Any suggestions? Would these work? http://www.raceseng.com/shock-top-re...baru-brz-2013#

One thing I haven't been able to find an answer for using the search function...

How much lowering before the Whiteline roll center and bump steer correction kit becomes a worthwhile upgrade?

How little of a drop before it becomes contra productive?

Just to be sure I ordered it together with a bunch of other stuff, to keep the shipping down. I wasn't sure if I would need it with a 1 to 1 1/4 inch drop. Now that I will get it anyway, should I install if I go with a 1 inch drop or even less like 20 mm?

Thanks!

It becomes noticeable at 25mm of drop. Even more so at 35mm.

I would use it with a 20mm drop, but not any less than that.

Nice coilovers!

Those should work. Make sure you get the right top nut. And I would stick with the 1 inch drop mounts.

Thanks Andrew, Raceseng has meanwhile already shipped them.

FWIW: I felt that 12/12 may be a little stiff on our bumpy courses. But KW said that the front should not be any softer than 12 - only the rear could be reduced to 10. Compared to the stock spring set-up it'll be possibly more pushy, but I can correct that with more camber in the front and lower tire pressure (which so far needed to be high in order to prevent roll over). Besides, we do have a lot of 1st gear corners. So, having softer rear springs should help getting the power down out of these 1st gear corners (after all, I need it to be as fast as possible and not as balanced as possible). Well, I'll see.

This might be off topic, but has anybody had any experience with the rce sway bars? And is it possible to get just the front sway bar? I was researching, and came across them, but can't find any specific details or reviews on them

CSG and RCE, are Ceika coilovers any good? How about the Fortune auto? I have a lead on some used KW v3's and I know those are probably better than the base versions of the other 2 companies but my issue is I've heard that kw's are not modular where you can build on it. My car is a dd but I track it quite often and I like the idea that if I want to go full race later then both of the aforementioned companies give you the flexibility to do this. Your thoughts?

Has is ever been determined that the 04-07 STi Group N mounts fit the front of the BRZ (B0310FE000)?
