Difficult to say. Midvaal is quite a technical track so driver experience and local knowledge counts a lot, and car power is relatively less important.

How much track experience do you have?

Wasn't referring to the drivers skill set, more to maximum potential of a standard car in the hands of an expert, what I should be building towards.

Personally, first solo on track time was at midvaal recently, lapping in the low 24s, stock standard everything.

1m24 is a great time for a stock car. You must have been pushing it.
I don't know how much better you can do, maybe a second or two...

Amazed at how well the car handled it. Some wear on shoulders of front tires and thats more or less it! Was going as hard as I dared, biggest challenge for myself was getting the car turned smoothly for T1 as well as the left hander after the hairpin. I felt biggest possible improvements probably possible in becoming smoother with less steering input in the first 3 corners.

I've put together videos to celebrate 2 years of accident and incident free playing on racetracks. (25 track days, 902 laps)

A big thank you to all the people who helped make it very special for me, especially my petrolhead friends who share my passion, and the special folks behind the scenes who have helped with keeping my car in good shape.

Also thanks to Creedence Clearwater Revival (2014 video) and Dire Straits (2015 video) for permitting use of their music.
Please note that due to copyright conditions, these videos cannot be viewed in Germany.

Here's my 2014 video (24 mins)

And this is my 2015 video (32 mins)

One never stops learning, and I learnt something new today, which is -
when you dump your old track tyres - only dump 3, and keep 1 - obviously the best one.

I always check my track tyres after an outing, and I've got terminal sidewall damage. Fortunately, my semis are near the end of their life but could still do another 3 track days if I had a replacement tyre. Lesson learnt... At the current exchange rate, that could have saved me eleven hundred thousand and five teen millionty rands

Still two and half Scoobies, but one changed colour ...
Pity I'll only get to drive it once a year

If there's orange offspring, I'll be thrilled, and have to start looking for an orange house near an orange school.
And I'll need a little orange supercharger

Hell yeah!!

I also had a 1200 beetle a lifetime ago.
Budget model, imported from the Netherlands, right hand drive.
Which didn't make any sense then, or now, but it was a cheap and slow car for my hooligan wife
And I never bothered to remove the "NL" sticker either...
