The pricing isn't bad,

The Gear300 goes for R199 per L

The Gear300 LS goes for R270 (Not sure if this is per L or not , does not stipulate on the website)

So If you go for:

1) 4L of Gear300 (2.2L gear box and 1.3L Diff)

Gets you to R796

2) 3L of Gear 300 (2.2L gearbox) and 2L of Gear300LS (1.3L Diff)

Gets you to R1,137

Which is a R341 difference overall which is not a massive difference,

In hindsight I should have paid the extra R341 for peace of mind,

But will use Gear300LS the next time,

How often do you have to change LSD fluid?

A not so "feel good" pic below.

But for me, it's still a "feel good" because after almost 3 years of abuse and 25 track days, this is the first failure of any sort that I've had.
Other than brakes and tyres which are expendibles.

Always knew I was a bit cracked

Yikes are you going to fix or replace?

I'm sure there's allot of stock headers in SA lying around,

I would offer you mine, but I am keeping it to fit back on my car, if I sell my after market header,

Are you considered going with an aftermarket header and catback (BRZ) :-P

I've got Gun Gum and hose clamps.
All I need is the jam tin, but I'm battling to chow all that jam.

In answer to your questions - fix, and nope to aftermarket header.
Highly specialised and experienced welder can work wonders - let's see...

Dude... letting your tyres get this bad is just plain dangerous... that is not like "low tread"... that is many, many, many km's past the best tyre life and safe tyre life!!!

You really should be checking quite often (tyre pressures too) - I tend to check my pressures every couple of tank fill ups (say every second or third fill up I check) - and I only check with certain local garages that have accurate digital tyre pressure gauges. (I also have a good gauge at home anyway from my racing days - they are not expensive!).

Between brakes and tyres there is really nothing more important safety wise!

I'm thrilled.
I've done 23 track days with my car so far and I seriously abuse it, so I have a conscience.
But again, it's told me that it's not made of glass as long as I keep it fed with quality fluids and don't do anything really stoopid.

I wish some of these forum okes saying how bad the FA20 is, and how unreliable SC's are would read this post

Lol thanks man. Lessons have been learnt!

I knew I was cutting it close, but damn not that close. Anyway, I've put some Yokohama A-Drives on as a replacement for the toyo's I had - Couldn't find those proxes and the A-Drives looked next best for price/performance for my liking. Also did a camber adjustment based on how the previous sets wore... I think a little earlier in this thread, a few members pointed out the camber settings and their adjustments etc.

On a separate topic, has anyone gone the route of not extending their service warranty and opting to do the services after 60 000 on an adhoc basis?

Good man!!

In terms of the service thing... I spoke to a couple of Toyota insiders (employees) and both told me not to waste the cash on extending the warranty/services etc. They've apparently priced a pretty big margin into it, so better to save the bucks yourself and then either just pay for the service or do it yourself if you know how.

Won't be extending mine.

Is the black just from the effect of the photo - or is it coated?
