I can't see them doing anything major to the engine, unless they think the car can carry a big price tag. I can't see the business case.

I'll still put my money on;

More NA power from intake, map, zaust
Weight loss from brakes, wheels, interior deletes, but no carbon panels
Track focus with suspension, seats etc

230bhp plus , 150kg lighter

Sounds more realistic. We have to consider they are focusing resources on handling/suspension/styling as well so I'm not expecting spectacular power unless it's force induced (which won't happen).

As for parts that classify as "performance improvements," a quick glance at the catalog of the current STI-equipped Forest, Legacy, and Impreza in Japan shows these types of parts:

Oil filter
Racing oil
Racing brake fluid
Air filter
Muffler
Short shifter
Brake pads
Stainless steel brake lines
Clutch disc
Clutch cover
Timing belt
Power steering/alternator belt

Forester and Legacy have had STI parts for several model generations but never was there a special Forester STI or Legacy STI from the factory. I foresee similar treatment with the BRZ. For BRZ STI to happen, the BRZ would have to become Subaru's next cash cow ala Impreza.

No, it doesn't. I tried to point it out nicely, but what you wrote above is completely incorrect.

Nothing wrong with being wrong about something, unless you fail to accept that the earth isn't flat.

STi build complete cars based on most of the Subaru lineup. To think they won't be building an offering based on a Subaru that is pure sports car, is to not understand what they do.

I've already accepted I was wrong from the global perspective. But not everything I wrote is completely incorrect. I am still expecting a WRX STI only and no other STI. And I don't understand what they do because all their offerings were never offered to "us."
