Bluetooth Skipping -- Standard FRS Headunit

Wondering if anyone here has had any issues with the standard stereo in their frs and Bluetooth skipping like a cd? It happens randomly, but if it starts to happen it will continue until the car is turned off. I am using an ipad mini and streaming spotify for reference.

I reset all the settings on the ipad, per Apple's suggestion, and it worked for a day and now the skipping is back.

Any suggestions? Or anyone else experience this?

Mine works fine. Connecting to an android phone. Usually issues are the phone's fault.

You try a different phone (wife / gf / friends) and see if it's an issue. I know the Samsung Android phones have strange disconnection issues with the BeSpoke stereo.

When I had that HU with my Lumia 920 it worked flawlessly, I'd try a different phone to test as stated.

I get the same issue. Usually mines because of interference or my phone being in my pocket. I usually put the phone in the slot next to the shifter and aux/usb ports. That seems to work best for me.

Well, the skipping continued on the ipad mini and im not sure why, but it hasnt done it with my iphone 4s yet. I just purchased a Galaxy Note 8.0 to run torque and it has skipped once, but nothing since than.

The girlfriend now has the ipad mini and im using the note 8.0 in the frs. One thing I noticed right away is that the new android device does not show the artist/song name on the HU. It showed on the mini. I am thinking it is an app related issue. I stream 99% of the time from Spotify. Ill have to try with some locally played music and see if it does the same

My Headunit has been nothing but trouble. Randomly not connecting, not showing info, volume won't move, skipping, etc...

Bluetooth on Android doesn't pass song info using most apps. iOS seems not to have this issue.

What stereo are you using, bespoke vs stock?

I believe the song info is due to the version of bluetooth found within android and not android itself. I've got an "old" samsung galaxy nexus (VZW). Up until I got android 4.3, no song info made it to the HU regardless of app. Stock 4.3 got me the song name only i think. I flashed to a 4.3 ROM based on Cyanogen Mod with updated bluetooth low energery drivers and now it works perfectly for displaying song/artist/album/etc.

@Optimus Prime, thanks for the info. Im a total noob when it comes to android and I am trying to learn all the nuances.

@CladMonitor, I am running the standard, non bespoke HU that comes in the frs.

Looks like I am going to have to look up some good ROMs and how to root the device. Any good suggestions out there on where start? Im tech savvy, just not with android yet.
