Maybe you didn't like the design, but I couldn't even get one because they sold out! I loved the outline of these cars...anybody know whether they will restock?

On top of that the track was too short, last years course was avg 40secs, where as Sundays course was in the low 20's. For the same price of the VIP autoX I could of gotten a full track day at SoW with 20 minute run goups and 5-6 runs. I guess they made up for it by having open sessions all day though.

S'all good though, more then happy to support MotorMavens and the 86fest crew, all the vendors that make the FRS/BRZ/86 community what it is. Doesnt hurt that I won more that the cost of admission in raffle prizes

We can only hope with more experience that these events will get bigger and better in the future.
I was talking to the autocross event organizers, it seems that the original course was supposed to be 30-40secs, but almost 1/4 of the course area got suddenly allocated to the Driving Academy for a skid pad for Saturday. The autocross event staff were planning to re-build the course back to the original layout early Sunday morning, but were NOT ALLOWED IN by the idiots working the gate check in!!! Unbelievable!!!!

Poor Administration

Purchased a pre-paid admission ticket online, accidentally paid again at gate because I thought it was a parking fee. Tried to get refund at gate, 86fest booth and also sent email to organizers...no refund as of yet. All event workers refused my request saying that they had no way to process a refund.

that really sucks! I think a lot of people deserve a refund unfortunately because the lack of organization I cant see where all the entrance fee monies were spent. When I showed up there was no one scanning tickets, I waited in line for raffle tickets, when I arrived at the front of the line they said I don't have a wrist band, and that I should have gotten one at the front gate when they checked my tickets. so I pulled my ticket out and showed it to the booth merchant she looked at it for all of .5 seconds then wrote 86 on my hand with a sharpie marker. I only spent $10 so I dont feel that bad. but literally could have drove my fr-s into the car show parking and not paid for any admission, So I feel bad for those who paid way extra to be apart of a "show" and got the shafted treatment.

Since there will be 12 months now until the next 86fest, I hope the organizer take this time to button everything up and make 86fest III a more successful and enjoying event for all. ps beer and shade would make ALOT of people happy. :happy0180:

Alcohol has no place at a car event. I know some people are mature enough to have a DD, but definitely not everyone.

But I am down for some extra canopies spread through out. lol

thats a good point about the alcohol, it does remind me that everyone cannot be as responsible as others when it comes to drinking. My thoughts suggesting some beer would just be to have a cold beer with a burger or pizza at lunch time but I think you are right, someone who have too many and get into trouble, thus ruining it for everyone else.

can someone explain to me why there are 2 86s big events out there on the SAME DAY?

86Fest: http://86fest.com/
86Nation: http://www.ft86nation.net/

im more interested in track event :P but in terms of quality of the event, any thoughts?

im sure a number of us from NorCal would come down but its a bump to have to choose rather than being together...
