wow I feel bad for everyone who paid the $50 for the car show entry and got kind of shafted. I paid $10 for GA tix and showed up a little early (about 11:30AM) and got decent parking... not front row by the stage but basically right behind the vendor tents so I couldn't complain. I thought it was a pretty good event, for what I paid... access to so many vendors, chance to meet and talk with so many people in the industry and community, I almost thought the 5 hours or so wasn't enough time to see everything and talk to everyone. I spent most of that time wandering the booths and checking out all the cars (true, I did not know which cars were "in the show" and which were just owners parked nearby -- a lot of nice rides to see though) and actually didn't even find time to go watch the autox or the SpeedVentures track day. Hell I didn't even make it out to the food trucks my wife found them haha. I honestly don't know where all the time went. At the end of the day though the raffles went on and on and I think it was disorganized enough that people lost interest and left by the time it was done and the car show awards went out. Damn I should have put my tix in the general raffle instead of the specific vendor boxes though, they were giving away a lot of "small" stuff and I wouldn't have minded taking some of that stuff home.

I feel the event was OK, but that is my experience paying 12 bucks for GA.

I'm hoping they do fix some stuff for next year:

1) the raffle should start 30 minutes after the vendors are told to bring up their boxes.
2) Don't worry about who pulls the damn ticket, keep it moving.
3) there needs tto be designated parking for show entries. Plain and simple.
4) speakers at the back of the place so everyone can hear
5) more lines to hand out raffle tix
6) autox course looked kinda lame for the price.

On the positive side that was one of the biggest raffles at a show I have seen next to BAM (Subi Bay Area Meet). There where a ton of vendors with awesome deals to boot. The show has potential to be huge. hopefully they tap into the brain of people like Moto and Ichi to get it straightened out as they move forward.

On the brighter side some of the vendors had some pretty good deals on there merch. I was impressed with some of the discounts.

Hey guys, we really appreciate the feedback and we sincerely thank you for it. Yes, there are many areas we can improve upon for the next 86Fest. As the 86Fest staff was planning this show (we basically are a skeleton crew working 18 hours a day for 3 months straight) coordination can sometimes become challenging when you're working with volunteers and venue staffing which we've never worked with prior to the event.

The event for being in its second year had jumped enormously in scale from what it was last year so it was kind of a shock to our system to get things setup. So we do apologize for any mishaps, confusion, and issues you may have had with the event.

We will do our best to improve upon your concerns and issues and please keep providing us the feedback so we can continue to improve our event. We're taking your feedback very seriously and want to make it a better event in the future.

I'll be checking this thread regularly and providing the feedback to the main event organizers so please feel free to speak up and let us know your thoughts. If it takes a while for me to respond please don't fret, as I do have a day job and cannot be on the forums all day

Thanks again

After hearing all the negative comments about this years 86fest it sounds like I made the right decision on not going. I decided to hit up Vegas and the grand canyon instead lol. I'm sorry to all who paid and got shafted.

I don't know what part of 86fest you guys got into. But in all honesty, it was a great turnaround for me. It was the first 86 to ever go to, plus got a ride along by joon maeng in his ae86 and met lots of great people.

Hell, the dyno pulls alone for 40 bucks is a good price...^^^That is how an event should be done

Lol. That's probably just a less experienced graphic designer. Hey if you know who put it together, just hook them up with me. I've been a professional in the design industry for over 14 years.
