I doubt an actual STI would have any carbon fiber stuff. The show car was just a BRZ with a bunch of flashy SPT parts with STI logos. STI's usual utilize a lot of aluminum to save weight, but this car seems to already be doing that.

I would assume the Turbo version will be the STI that would make a lot of sense and I'll definitively be happy with a limited BRZ

I'm not waiting for the turbo, and in fact I think a turbo kind of defeats some of the purpose of the car. Toyota has said the development of the 86 was a reaction to the lazy throttle response of turbos and the isolating driving experience of all wheel drive.

200 horsepower is plenty for me. This is a car you will be able to fully wind up and have fun with every day in almost any driving situation. How often can you really wind up a WRX or STI in day to day driving without risking your licence?

NA all the way.

My ideal BRZ would be 230/240hp NA @ around 8k or higher, and weighing about 2600lbs.

I just love the sounds and powerband of a high revving NA engine.

I have a feeling a high performance N/A version is coming, and that it will be JDM only.

I'm with most of the people here, I'm not waiting. I'll be happy with the car as is, if a turbo version comes out and it's a really sweet package (cf roof, etc) then I can always trade in the N/A BRZ for the turbo. Most likely I'll get really attached to this car and won't wanna get rid of it though, in which case I'll just do an aftermarket turbo if I really feel the need for more power.

Well Cosworth is already developing one for the aftermarket. If that makes 240-250hp and i could get the car down to 2500lbs i would be pretty happy I think.

Would I like a turbo? Sure.

Do I feel I need one? Not at all. I'm actually looking forward to the flat torque curve of a N/A engine. So my order stands.

But who knows? Maybe the supercharged FR-S TRD will come out. I might look seriously at trading up for that in a few years.

Not really interested in turbo and by the time a turbo model comes out ill mostly likely have my brz already paid off. I think a supercharger or N/A fits this car better than a turbocharger setup

If Subaru successful make electric turbo(as rumor), I will probably trade my car( at that time) in for a BRZ STI with electric turbo.

Don't forget that Subaru charges a huge premium when you start stepping up to the turbo models. Even just the difference from WRX to WRX STI is ~8.5k. I'm not saying that isn't worth it. That's up to the buyer but it isn't just mileage and maintenance you have to worry about being different.

I'd be more excited about an all carbon fiber roof then a turbo to be honest.
