I made the mistake of going to my Steam backlog and started Just Cause 2. Wow, what a time black hole that's going to end up being for me!

What is there like 350 towns to take over! It's a bit repetitive but the various vehicles (particularly aircraft) make it interesting for me.
Too bad the mechanics are a bit on the arcade side, and there is no cockpit view.
Also, the world map, while good size (400 square miles) is really too small in my opinion for the use of the jet fighters they have in the game. The helicopters work great though for strafing, and the (unrealistic) ability to grapple to an enemy helicopter and take it over is pretty cool.
I've gotten so wrapped up in taking over towns I've only played about two or three of the primary thread missions.

Did anyone ever get into RUSE? Or was that just a blow over?

That's how they get you... you don't play it for the story, you play it just cause.

Sighhh, No... After two years working, I'm pretty sure I was hired for my looks. People always seem to stare at me, but as soon as I start to say something they leave.

117 hours in game. Still going. Friend has 286 hrs and seen some with 300+.

Sure sure sure. It just didn't seem to offer much above GTA 4 from I remember. I appreciate that 18 hours wasn't long to give it a chance but I just got bored with it fairly quickly. In about 2 & 1/2 minutes I will be starting Witcher 3. Whooo!

You people have so much free time...I'm jealous. I had 3k hours in dota. Then I got a job, my own place and now I need to get a certification to get a better job. So all I do nowadays is study and work. /cry

It's reminisce time!!!!

I spent way too much time playing FarCry (the first one) multiplayer. I remember (vaguely) starting off as a complete noob getting my ass whipped in ffa games, often with no kills. For some reason I stuck with it. I persevered, not realising how much strategy was involved in playing a fps. It took over my life at one stage. 60 hours or so online a week. Lost friends because I was too busy playing this game. I got into the top 50 in the world for ffa. If there was no one online I would practice until someone turned up. I ended up getting accused of hacking. I knew everything there was to know about playing that game. That is, I would be doing things that players didn't know were possible. I don't like to think how much time I put into that game. What I found really really strange though was I couldn't transfer my skills to other games. I was hopeless at CS. I still occasionally fire up FC and play against bots. I don't play for very long because I get depressed at how hopeless I have become.
