I'm far from an expert, but based on the out put pictures with halogen bulbs and then HID kit, it wouldn't surprise me if they used a cheaper HID projector.. That was a decent cutoff.. The hotspot wasn't to horrible, on oar with what looks to be a morimoto 4.0-5.0?? I've done a fair share of retrofits, and just seems like a decent projector..

By the way, whats the clearance from the hood opening in the engine bay to the nearest engine component? Also what are the dimensions of the opening? I assume the opening on top is the same as below in the engine bay?

Yesterday ambient was 104 and after sitting in a drive through and then red light the temps climbed to over 110-112. Cruising at 45 the IAT dropped to 104 and then both measured ambient and IAT went down to 102.2. The MAF is located after the intercooler though. I'll need f1point4 to help me out with testing so I can compare it to another Vortech equipped vehicle. To get the rigged intake to match up better, I might need to cut a little out of the left side of the hood opening and cover up some of the right side. The biggest thing I keep on going back and forth on is whether or not to mount an oil cooler with fan on the strut tower brace to vent air from the back side of the scoop. Quote:

Looks nice, but would be much nicer if it was routed to a functional intake duct (not sure if it is, but just throwing it out there)

Are those stock headlights with just a tint applied to it? If not, what headlights are those?

Sorry for the slow replies on this one. I'm guessing in stock form without modifications, it should run a little cool air into the engine bay. How much? Not certain unless I prepare some tests to really get some data.
I think it does work well if modified for a top mount oil cooler though. This is right after I installed a setup. Have to go back and wire a relay, tidy up the wires, etc. NOTE: This oil cooler DOES have a fan. It really sucks :-). ![]() The headlight casings are painted white, RGB halos were added, and it has a TRS kit installed (projectors).
