Definitly replicated and the op has the patent on the mounting points.. Check the sellers feedback in the link, he's sold at least 3 that I've seen so far

OP has a patent... on mounting points... LOLWUT?

Let's see... mounting points... doesn't seem to be a process, machine, or manufacture... but I digress.

I might purchase this depending on the auction end price just for the sake of cutting it up to fit w/ the factor "diffuser."

If I say he ripped off my design then I get chewed out by forum trolls.

Just delete the link and don't give him any extra traffic.

You're right up the road from me. Let's get together and I want you to explain/show me what exactly you're thinking. I'll bet I can make it work.

I serious doubt he has been granted a patent this quickly assuming he did file for one and you would be insane for even paying a lawyer to draft this up as a patent and the patent fees. The cost to do so would likely be more than the expected profits and you'd likely never need/want to actually litigate over it.

Could be considered a "process" also called a "method". e.g. A method of attaching a diffuser to an FRS. IDK, but I'm with you on the diffuser design. I'd much prefer something that fit under the car more neatly and filled in more of the non-flat areas near the diff. I'm imagining something closer to the Borla diffuser but extending further under. At some point I may make my own, debating using fiberglass instead of aluminum though.

Basically, the factory faux diffuser has rounded edges, and personally, I think it flows with the rest of the stock rear rather well. I'm basically looking at something like the Borla diffuser. Ideally, I'd want an underside that's entirely flat for both aero and protection benefits, but keeping the outward appearance rather stock looking so as to not attract unwanted attention. If only I had a plasma cutter and a lift... =/

I highly doubt it would survive a 101 objection...

Also, CLEiB makes a FRP and Carbon rear diffuser that is amazing and has a good amount of coverage, but... not adaptable to different exhausts.

the type-2 diffuser is shorter and also has curved and smaller strakes. from the side profile, the curve of the strakes follow up the curve of the rear bumper.

Yeah, I looked at that, but it is still incompatible with the stock "diffuser," and to me, looks a bit out of place. Maybe once summer comes around, I'll have time to mess with this idea some more.

The optional factory plastic trim piece looks stupid and does nothing.
