I will be doing some more runs and logs tomorrow and compare mine to yours, will post it up tomorrow after pulling it in and plotting in excel....just got my new 8psi actuator installed today (thanks paul @AVOturboworld).

Trying to figure out this new actuator, settings, etc...new thread about it. Bar to PSI Questions

Here is a boost plot to compare. Cannot figure out how to convert the map reading to be in psi....any help?
Thought i had it figured out....(MAP)1.3*14.5-14.5= 4.35psi!!??thats not right...

Yeah, so mine seems to drop about 1.7psi. This whole conversion thing is still throwing me off, but you look at my boost plot and you will see...

1.3bar (18.85psi) max then tapers down to 1.18bar(17.11psi) so about a 1.7psi drop. Keep in mind, i believe my map sensor reading is off, as i am not pushing 19psi! At least i hope not! Really need to figure out the conversion, or get my 3-bar map sensor configured in ecutek properly.

The MAP sensor is reading your ambient air pressure + the boost. Sea level, that was be 1 bar - 15psi. But if you are in Denver, CO, the atmospheric pressure is 12.1 psi. So your boost on top of that, if it's 18.85 psi, is about +6.85psi. That's what it's reading at the manifold, and not necessarily what it would read with a boost gauge attached. A boost gauge is generally going to be a bit more accurate.

This is why cars have MAP sensors, of course, so they can compensate for the changes in altitude. One of the reasons it was important to test in Utah was the fact we were at 5000-6000 feet for so long (and at speed! Gotta love an 80mph speed limit).

I will be adding a AVO turbo stage 1 kit to my FR-S soon. I have a sponser who will be providing the kit, but I'm just waiting for garage space to open up at my friends place. I'll let you guys know how it goes and once it's installed.

So I've posted this elsewhere but new clutch is making a world of difference. I can strongly recommend not sticking with the stock clutch if you have exhaust mods and get tuned for 93 octane. The car is a monster now, and I thought it was crazy before.

On a less happy note, I still have violent afterfire even with the new working BOV. I put the recirculating plate back on the valve thinking it would fix the issue but it's still there. Is it possible the small exhaust leak at the header flanges is causing this somehow? That's just about the only minor thing left I can think of that's actually "wrong" with my car now. Or is this just something I have brought upon myself by having a muffler delete? I'm afraid of the answers to the second question as I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way it sounds all other times ...

If it's full catless with a muffler delete then, yes, it's going to have fairly interesting afterfire events. Nothing to impede them, basically. You can gap the spark plugs down a bit to help, but that's about it.

Thanks for the reply Paul. I still have a high-flow cat, but maybe that's not enough. I will be getting a new catback, and if this behavior is expected then that will help me decide that I need a hefty muffler after all.

You're not alone mate. I'm running a highflow and an exhaust with H mufflers and still getting flame out the exhaust. Good fun in the tunnel near my place haha!

I find it relatively easy to control the "afterfire events" with my right foot, and enjoy the ability to pop a loud flaming cap or two off when I want to. Sounds quite nice inside with the Perrin 3".

I do have them completely under control, but the issue is I only have two options when driving if I DON'T want to after fire like a shotgun:

1. Drive like a granny (no not hot rod granny)
2. Drive like a boy racer

This is because if I clutch in anywhere between 3500 and 6000 RPMs I am guaranteed to afterfire very loudly. I'ts not fun little pops here and there.

I'll just look into exhausts with substantial mufflers for the time being. Maybe in my car's late life when she's leaning toward full track car I can return to this glorious sound with some 3" options.

You'll lose most of the pop with a muffler, but not all. Go big to retain some of that lovely sound.

I have the exact same thing. And notice your 2 options pretty much nailed it.
