The added cr helps though doesn't it ?

a bit. probably not that much though. an ej25 will still spool a much larger turbo than an fa20 for a given amount of perceived lag.

I will have the rest of the uel kit I ordered here tomorrow. I will not be starting the install till Thursday though. I dought you are willing to wait that long for my take on it. As well I have quite a few other things to install and build for that car, been waiting on the kit to get here as that will take up the most room.

It's a tight fit around the passenger headlight.

I have an automatic FRS looking for around 350-400 whp & 300 TQ on 91 pump gas around 10-12 psi. I was debating between the 60 trim, gt2871r or the gt3076r turbos. What do you think I need to achieve that power? Would it even be possible? Unfortunately there aren't any e85 stations where I live. I wouldn't say my build is an open ticket, but I understand the costs that go into a 400 whp build.

Thanks for your help!

Yup. I had crap numbers with a gt28 on the stock block. Currently running 350/275 on 91 with @FullBlown's 9:1 engine build. FWIW 350 feels quite excellent with how light of a car it is. I certainly wouldn't want a larger turbo with this 2L.

So no more turbo with the built engine? When you had the gt28 what numbers was it producing on the stock block and at what psi? I wonder if the automatic tranny can handle that torque..

Super confusing statement ^^.

I still have the same gt28. With the stock block I was somewhere in the low 200s (bad tunes) on 91 @ 7psi. A decent E85 tune @ 7psi made 293whp.

I went for FullBlown's built block w/ lower compression pistons so we could safely shove more boost. 353/275 @ 16psi were the numbers I saw on 91.

It's true the stock clutch can't handle that power. I've had both the exedy stage 1 and CM FX300 which have no issues with these power levels. The automatic trans is certainly fine at these power levels as well.

Thanks for the detailed reply. Really helps. I see you live in Palo Alto, where did you have your work done for the built motor and turbo? Installing a built motor sounds scary but the turbo seems doable with a partner. So I'm in theory looking at around 10k in parts for around 350-400 rwhp.. Seem right?

Ever thought of installing a water methanol injection system? Since gas is terrible and the closest e85 station is in San Jose (I live in Berkeley), I'm looking at alternatives.
