I was saying fitment issues seem to be a reoccurring them with FA20Club products.

Having worked as a welder for a couple years, I know that stuff can tweak a bit from the heat caused by the welds, even if made in a jig.
Looking at the pics though it almost seems if maybe the jig has moved around, because if the jig were correct, and solid, that part would have been really hard to remove from the jig, and would have probably made a big "Twang" when it popped loose. |

Hey guys, I asked Andy at fa20club this question but I think he's busy with some stuff so I'll ask here since you guys know first hand what this kit is/can be capable of. I have an automatic FRS looking for around 350-400 whp & 300 TQ on 91 pump gas around 10-12 psi. I was debating between the 60 trim, gt2871r or the gt3076r turbos. What do you think I need to achieve that power? Would it even be possible? Unfortunately there aren't any e85 stations where I live. I wouldn't say my build is an open ticket, but I understand the costs that go into a 400 whp build.
Thanks for your help! |

3071 and meth would be my recommendation. You may have to look a bit past 12 psi though. Others may disagree with me as I am a fan of the larger turbos.

I'm a bit new to forced induction since I've only worked on bikes. So I get more power from the 3071/3076 but it spools at a higher rpm? 12 psi is my street limit, if I go meth injection I'd be happy to run 16 on a track.

I would recommend starting by reading this. http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...rbo_tech_basic
Once that is done read the rest of the articles listed under there turbo tech section. There is actually some good info in there. You can get a bit of basic info from here as well. http://www.3k-warner.de/products/default.aspx I could simply give you a basic answer but I feel it is better to point people in a direction that they can learn from, as eventually you will have more questions and this could possibly answer those for you as well. Hope it helps. |

i've made the mistake of buying too big of a turbo once, i wouldn't do it again. unless you're building a drag car, a gtx35r has no place on a 2.0l engine. but then, others feel differently. it depends on your tolerance for lag i suppose
![]() i wouldn't go any bigger than a 3071r, and even that is a bit of an odd choice given the relatively small increase in performance potential over a gtx28. i'll qualify that by saying i've never driven an 86 with a large turbo, so maybe it's supernatural, but large turbos on small engines generally suck for anything beyond drag racing and dyno competitions. |

I would look at the forced performance 35's over the gtx. I feel the 60+ mm wheels may end up being a bit unresponsive. We shall see though as 300 and subzero are using turbos in that size range if I remember correctly. for highway pulls there is always the option to break boost though.
