Oh I see, at first I thought it was a point you have to hit every time you up shift lol. The way my dad taught me how to start a manual was step on the clutch, put it in first gear and slowly release the clutch while giving it gas. I guess I'm gonna have to practice with the car using this engagement point method before I can start using that other technique.

Im glad Im not the only person with this opinion. It really threw me off in the test drive. My other cars have all been equipped with only stock clutches, too-- so its not like my clutch leg is all beefy from slamming down a heavy clutch.

I don't want to step on your dad's toes. I'm sure he has way more experience than I do. Both ways will teach you how. The important part is being able to drive safely, so however way you achieve that, that's good.

lol I think he was just really familiar with that car, that doing it that was was like instinct to him. Man I wish he still had his CRX, then I would have something to practice on

Oh yeah, it was crazy feeling. It didn't feel like stepping on a soaked sponge like many other clutches even. This thing felt like nothing was there at all, like I was just going through the motions.
