Perhaps, I said that because I have no idea how much he knows or doesn't know. Other people may not when they read his comments.
Just a statement so I didn't read into it. Sorry I missed all the fanfare and drama...

An upgraded cooling solution is needed for any car with a FI kit that hopes to see serous work. It's been shown that oil and coolant temps rise significantly once any form of FI is added. It's not unique to the Innovate kit.

As for WMI, I was suggesting it as a substitute for E85 or an intercooler, since A. not everyone can readily get a hold of E85, and B. the intercooler is not available in the US yet.

It's up to the owner if they want to work with a WMI kit or wait for the intercooler. However with the much lower output temps the twin-screw creates compared to other FI solutions, an A/W intercooler probably won't have as dramatic effect on the street as the evaporative cooling from E85 or WMI.

Quote:
I think that's been understood for awhile now, though I don't think people wanted to accept that. They'd rather buy into terms like "Twin-Screw" and "this kit is AWESOME."

Not that it isn't.

My 2 cents!

Bob @ Drift-Office, LLC
Anyone who thought the Innovate kit would rival or beat the Vortec kit on the top end hasn't been paying attention.

But I find it ironic when people who bought a car that isn't about "the numbers" start putting down this SC kit for it's lower peak numbers.

I bought this car knowing it wasn't about the numbers, with the intention of fixing it . It's a lot easier to make a flat 4 make power than it is to make a camaro handle like a proper sportscar.

Oh man, I love both kits, but who cares about the "peak" numbers on the Innovate kit. I like the rest of the graph quite a bit, and I bet it feels awesome on the streets! If I wanted big dyno numbers, I would have just boosted my S2000 instead of buying this car. But for daily stop light driving, this kit looks perfect IMO.

Seems like a good daily driver setup for the cost and the complexity. My $.02.

Did a quick 60-100, based on datalogs it comes to 7.5 seconds in 4th.

WMI, E85, or both; will negate the need for an IC. But I'd still rather have an IC as long as it is efficient.

I can't figure out if Bob @Drift-Office is for or against this kit.. lol.

So I guess its safe to say pump is a definite for E85. I think @robispec pushed the limits of the injectors with the smaller pulley no?

I played it safe and just bought both.

Important to note that these numbers are pretty similar to the early vortech and AVO numbers. Remember both kits explored more boost after their initial release. I wan't more torque out of turns so this is the kit for me (don't want the complexity of a turbo) and I plan to add WMI so I can explore more boost but more importantly cool the charge and get some more power. It's a complex insurance policy but I don't have easy access to E85.

My Tom's Tail Lights arrive Thursday, I'll ask the Vortech-charged guys how they look next time out at the track

Thanks for all the information and pictures. The only thing I can think of is. My goodness that Nikon D800 is awesome. Makes me miss my D700.

And we just put it on last night, knowing Mike he might even squeeze out a little more with time?

Now I have to go drive it.

Anyone who doesn't know that much shouldn't be in the FI section.

Simmons this is your car? I'd never figure that given your affinity for autocross.

Sorry, I don't agree with you one on that one.
It isn't some elitist club. People learn and research things on forums. It is part of making an educated decision.
