Yeah, it's probably the 18-55mm.

Ok, I'm finally able to see the pictures. You have any idea how many shutter clicks it's had? When did you buy it?

Shutters on cameras are now typically rated at 100,000+ clicks. I wouldn't worry too much about that. D3100 is a great camera to start off with. The most important thing is knowing how to take good pictures. I know many people that would take a terrible shot with a 1Dx or a D800.
Also, I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade, but: http://www.adorama.com/INKD3100K4.ht...e=rflAID021866 The 18-300mm is an excellent all around lens, but @FRSTRM may have an easier time selling it separately as this is an amateur DSLR and amateurs typically aren't looking for the most expensive gear. Also, it's damn heavy (so is my 70-200mm and my 24-70, I can attest to lenses adding the majority of weight). On the other hand, as a bundle, you are saving money with this deal. |

I figured I'd end up buying her something that came with like an 18-55mm or an 18-135mm, so I was going to have to get her lenses in the future. But an 18-300mm would solve that problem. So far she just likes taking pictures of her cat and bugs and stuff, so it'd probably be a while before she ran into an 18mm not being wide enough situation.

That's fine, knowing how many clicks it's got on it is the most important thing.
