Its how everything works on the internets. Everyone's an expert and can suggest the obvious easy fix that should take like 5mins to do.

Problem is its not as easy as just pulling them, as the service manual states there are non-reusable parts. Just to remove them you need to replace the two of the stainless fuel lines.

I ordered all the parts so I can at least pull them to inspect but was told it was 45 days before they would maybe have the parts. (Seals, insulator, fuel pipes etc.)

It just blows.

It does blow, but if your replacing the injectors why not completely replace them with aftermarket parts like say from Deatschwerks or something?

The car has 8 injectors.
4 Port Injectors (like the ones you referred too)
4 Direct injectors (In cylinder), these are the ones you won't find aftermarket support on and are much more complicated. Also the ones that are having heat/seal issues on some cars.

Couple quick questions.. Are you already experiencing problems with your DI seals or are you doing this out of curiosity and preventative maintenance? Lastly, the parts are 45 days out but out of curiosity how much is the whole setup with the replacement lines and all?

I posted contact info for various auto media if folks want to voice there concerns and for an aftermarket shop that might be able to provide stronger seals in the above thread.

Alright, looks like around 20 people have had this problem.

How many cars have been sold in total?

You had not seen the thread just like probably more than half the forum. Trust me its a matter of time before you will start seeing the numbers rise. If you track your car or drive hard it will happen sooner or later unless toyota and subaru come up with a permanent fix. My Engine was replaced under warranty and my car has not seen any track since the build, i have 500 miles since it came out of the dealer with a new engine and i just threw a misfire code yesterday but now in cylinder #3. The problem with the Direct injectors is the constant heat from WOT pretty much melts the seal, car goes lean and you start getting misfires that can lead to catastrophic engine failure.

BTW direct injectors seal replacement parts are out of stock nation wide.... I wonder what that means.

It never hurts to check, right? Everyone can learn from it.
Someone make a how to and throw it in the DIY and ill have my brother help me do this when we install my catback.

I just ordered:
The seals, insulators and fuel pipes for all 4 injectors the intake manifold gaskets and throttle body gaskets required. $400.

When my engine gets hot usually after driving an hour, if I apply full throttle at about 4000RPM I get a loud pop from under the hood. It has happened twice. So I want to pull them to check

If you order a new injector it comes with all the seals installed already.
Each injector is $300.

Its not as easy as ordering the injectors. As they have a flow number on them.

All 4 injectors will have the same number, but there are 3 different part numbers which means you could have number 1, 2 or 3 stamped on the injector.

So basically because of the parts delay, you will have to pull the injectors twice if you have a scorched injector. First to inspect and get the number and order the right part and then a second time to replace an injector if it is bad.

Regardless anytime you pull them to inspect you need intake man gasket, throttle body gasket and fuel pipes per service manual to be replaced.
