I had a twin turbo RX-7 in 96. But I am sure that car was a POS too because a $100K+ Porsche SUV with a turbocharged V8 could beat me in a straight line..

I'm going Dodge Stealth so I can argue the difference of the car compared to the 3000GT (Mainly the branding) HAHA

2. I can't really utilize the power on the streets

4. Gas mileage is terrible but the worst part is the gas guage drops faster than the actual mileage(for instance my car was on E with 40% of gas remaining in the tank!!)
5. I always said I hated 4 cylinders but living with a 6 cylinder is worst!

To you guys thinking about the more powerful cars over the FRS/BRZ, keep your car. Bigger coupes is pieces of shit IMHO now. I miss the lightweight feel and agility of a 2800 lb coupe even with a torqueless engine. I finally see what some of the folks on here have been saying since I joined.
Actually, I apologize, if I offended anyone here. My honest words here are.

1/ Spot on...FRS tires don't have to be expensive
2/ Too much power for you ? Spot on...FRS is perfectly Mild
3/ Too heavy ? Spot on...FRS is very light
4/ Gas Guzzler ? Spot on....FRS is 4 cylinders oh and Hybrids = best
5/ 6 Cylinders are too much for you ? Spot on....FRS is 4 Flat

G35 wasn't the car for you. It is a good thing that you know exactly what you need, and want. FRS will be the best choice.

You still don't finally know what the people on here mean...you finally understand what your heart need

Your initial post had the Internet superiority complex surrounding them... This on the other hand is well said.

This bold part is crazy to me. I've been here on this site longer than a lot of people have and I visit it daily so I know what most people wanted on this site. I know there was a small minority, me included who wanted more power to go with the lightweight feel.

you just can never satisfy people. That is why there is so many Auto Brands, Kinds, Platforms. It is most important as in what you want, love, enjoy the most. Car is the same as Women...just less complications Cheers.

And since we are bench racing here, let's look at your list and compare times at Motor Trend and Top Speed for all the vehicles involved:
FR-S 0-60 = 6.2 seconds. 1/4 mile in 14.8 sec

RX350 F Sport ($47K base MSRP) = 0-60 in 6.9 seconds and 1/4 mile in 15.2 seconds

Infinity JX35 ($42K base MSRP) = 0-60 in 7.9 seconds and 1/4 mile in 16.1 seconds.

Infinity FX37 ($44K base MSRP) = 0-60 in 6.2 seconds. No 1/4 listed.

Porsche Cayenne in standard and diesel forms would be slower than an FR-Z. Times are around 6.9-7+ seconds. The Cayenne S and GTS are faster and range between 4.4-5.9 seconds.

So congrats. You found two SUV's that are faster in a straight line than the twins in stock form.

Yeah having a powerful car on the street is not that fun when you can't use that power. only on tracks..

I drove a G35 and I know what you mean..its fast and has power also feels planted on the ground due to its heavy but when you drive a 86 you can feel all sorts of feed back on what the car is doing .. That's what makes this car a drivers car..
I would bet that owners of a 250hp FR-Z would soon enough be aching for "another 50hp".

To take this to its (admittedly absurd) extreme, you said that you would never get passed by an SUV in a G35. The 0-60 on a G35 is in the low to mid 5 second range. A Cayenne Turbo S does 0-60 in 4.3 seconds, so it will easily pass a G35 without the slightest bit of difficulty.

(And yes, I know that's a $150k SUV)

I think deep down he wishes he had an FRS/BRZ....why else be on this forum...I dont really understand why anybody who doesnt have or plan on buying this car would waste there time on here..Ive never owned a mustang and ive never been on a mustang forum either

I owned a new 07 G35 S sedan. Thought I could have a practical car for everyday and one that would be fun to drive..
Liked the luxury and hwy ride.. hated the weight.. Felt like a tank.. A lead sled. Quick for 6 cyl.. But always being reminded of the mass that made up this car.
Owned it for 6 months.. 3 months to decide I didn't like it.. And 3 months to sell it..

Grand Cherokee SRT8 is in the high-4, low 5 seconds if I remember correctly and early models of those go for ~30k.

And the GMC Typhoon was somewhere in the 5s in the early 90s.
