Yeah, I think that's pretty much what I said.

Yes, the cars are not about brute power. A Mustang will easily run circles around this car in a straight line. But the minivan and SUV comments are greatly exaggerated around here. Minivans weigh between 4-5K lbs. They are geared for fuel economy. Their V6's range from 250-280hp. They almost weigh twice the weight of the FRZ. Do the math. That is a crap ton of weight to move. I don't know of a single minivan stock than can do 0-60 in under 7.5 seconds. Most of them are pushing 8-9 seconds.

But, it is actually fun
- The manual shifter is a dream. Coming from your Acura, it should be every bit as good.
- Handling is night and day better than the Gencoupe. The low center of gravity is the key with this car IMHO.
- The driving position in this car is so much better than any car I drove in the price range. It fits me like a glove and is just so intuitive.
- Gas mileage is awesome. I am super happy with what I am getting. I have been driving the car mostly city (I would say 80%) and have been driving spirited and am getting right around 25mpg. I was lucky to get 20mpg in the Gencoupe in similar driving conditions. I think once the car is broken in and I mix more highway in there, I will be getting 27-28mpg.

There is not much I am not liking about the car at this point except maybe the radio. I still think the car needs more power/torque but considering this is mostly a fun commuter car it works. At some point I might address it with aftermarket, but I am under warranty and really enjoying the car so I will wait.

I have not regretted trading in the Gencoupe for it for a single second. Power and torque be damned, this car is such a better drivers car and is so much more responsive I could not go back. The BRZ shifter is light years better than the vague Hyundai shifter and the BRZ feels so much lighter and nimble. You truly feel like you a are driving a sports car vs a sedan that has a big engine and some suspension tweaks.
I remember you from GC.com. Its good to hear your thoughts on both cars.

Yeah, obvoiusly depends on where you live but I was echoing you. Price is always contingent on supply and demand. Not much supply of used twins..

Damn straight. It's important that we race and or aggressively pass every single CUV and Minivan we come across. EVERY SINGLE ONE! It's absolutely vital to show your alpha male superiority to all of those inferior practical vehicles.

Everyone needs at least 1000 horsepower or it's not impressive at all.

The funny thing was is that I did test drive an FR-S last year. It must have been the test drive (it was short and controlled with lots of traffic) because I just did not get the hype.

On a whim I stopped in and drove a BRZ last month and the salesman was awesome. He took me to some great locations to drive the car and really let me put it through the paces. I was in love by the end

And? Is it that big a deal that a $40-100K SUV is faster than a sub $30K sports car? Honestly, if it was that important to me I would be driving a Mustang GT/Boss/Shelby GT. Or I guess I could talk to Crawford and have a 500hp BRZ...

I guess I just don't care that much that my daily driver can get beat by an asshat in an expensive SUV who wants to street race.

Whitigir pretty good at trolling, considering I see him on here constantly... His logic and continuity sucks though. Says any CUV or mini-van will pass you, then a few posts later says nah, not this kind, lists 80k+ SUV's ... Brilliant.
