Ah okay that makes sense then! Are these new models upgraded with new specs (technical upgrades)?

I don't have the touchscreen in mine, but have messed with it a little bit. In all honesty you would be better off just buying a nicer aftermarket unit. The markup price the dealer has on 'em are just ridiculous.

The new Scion head unit is light years ahead of the original radio (to the point it initially drove me to the BRZ even with the GPS and Blue Tooth glitches). It's rare that an OEM radio beats an aftermarket unit (in regards to features and price) but this one isn't bad. The only downside to it is adding a subwoofer and a reverse camera (not easily plug and play). Although it's still new and fresh, nobody mentions how do you update the maps?!?!?!?!?! Looks like it's done with a USB flash drive instead of a disc but how/where do you get the new map data, how much does it cost, and what's included in the update? Don't bother asking dealers or Scion support they have no idea.

The 2014's come with the touch screen, it's the navigation upgrade that cost more and isn't worth it. If you really want it, look in the classifieds and people sell the bespoke module that enables the navigation.

Not bad. My only concern was a laggy screen. But it definitely makes the interior look a lot better than that weird Musicmatch Jukebox radio face it had before lol.
