If nobody mentioned that the orange one was Plasti-dipped, I would've never guessed it. The matte looks perfect.

Usually Plasti-dipped cars have darker and lighter areas in lighted places and also have the horrible texture!

If the OP can find someone who can do it that well I'd say go for it. If I were to do that and found the right guy I'd skip the black and go for Blue or even orange.
Yes, I was parked next to that car at the autox in Vegas and I was really impressed with the quality of his spray. Best looking full-car plasti-dip spray job I have seen. Pretty sure it was done "pro-style" with a high quality sprayer (5-6 coats), though it was done in his own (albeit rather spacious) garage.

I did use a sprayer from dipyourcar. FYI this was my first time dipping anything and it wasn't hard. Just need patience and consistency. I watched tons of videos first on dipping and on painting cars and then went to town. I did this in my garage when it was about 50* and raining outside. Ventilation is another key, I had fans under the garage doors providing intake and exhaust so the air was moving and getting the lingering over spray away from the car.

You should know that this isn't permanent by any means though. I did mine knowing that I would only be looking to get a year (max) out of it before a peel and redo. It's been a few months and it's holding up very well but it got a few scars on the trip to and from 86Expo but then again at least the dip took the rocks instead of the paint. And if I want to go back to just the paint there will be considerable amounts of time getting over spray out of some of the jambs. Just want to make sure you know what your getting into if you do it.

I've done my truck bumpers and it's been over a year. It's gone up against brush, bushes, stuff on the freeway, and it's still holding up very well. As long as you have enough coats, take your time, the finish is very good and durable.

Helladipped in Long Beach if you dont mind the drive. They'll do it for $450 for single tone.

3M paint protection spray

Anyone try this 3M paint protection spray yet? Saw it on a commercial. It looks like spay on clear bra but seem to work like plastic dip. This would be great to used on trip or just to protect your paint.

Bump for any new info on businesses local to San Jose (within an hour or so).

I can get the full pro kit from DYC, (gallon quantities, sprayer and spare parts) shipped to my other house in CO and then drive it back on my next trip but would rather take it in to a reputable local shop and avoid the hassle.

Plastidip won't look as nice... It is presumably cheaper...I don't know by how much so it's hard to do the cost analysis....
Where do you get your wrap jobs done at? Most expensive I've seen was black chrome for 2k and I got my whole rx8 wrapped in digital camo for 1.3k lol. Plastidipping the whole car will cost about 400-600 depending on color.
