So I may have a dumb question, but do the LED strips stay lit then at night? Do they receive constant power or do they still turn off when the headlights are turned on?

Not sure if JDM/EDM/10Series are the same across the board but mine which are the 10Series version are constant power. they are like this:

DRL: LED Strip
Low Beams(Just turning headlights on): HID (Low) with LED Strip on too.
High beams: HID (High) with LED strip on too.

Gotcha. Is there a leveling switch? Is access to the 10 series lights easier now?

I'm installing 10 Series headlights and I'm curious about the resistor y'all are taping into. The 10 Series lights only have 6 wires, not the extra 7th wire. Do I still need to remove the resistor or should it remain plugged in?

That is a good question, I actually I'm trying to figure out the same thing.

I got my hands on the series 10 headlamps and am trying to figure what wiring I need to buy to get them installed and how to properly do it!

The 10 Series lights are a breeze to install compared to the Euro/JDM lights. You just repin the six wires from the 10 Series headlight into your factory plug(taken from your stock headlights) and that mates with the body control side. Don't worry about the 7th wire mentioned, but do remove the large resistor as instructed. You shouldn't need anything other than what comes in the box with the headlights from Toyota and what came installed on your car from the factory.

Awesome this is starting to make more sense. The only thing the box from Toyota is the actually headlamp, no wiring what so ever. Is that correct?

As you can tell i don't know my way around car electronics lol, every little bit helps!

Yes, just the headlights come in the box. get these bro. you will be glad you did and please DISCONNECT the resistor behind the bumper by the passenger head.

If you only pin the 6 wires without pinning the live 12v wire from where the resistor normally plugs into, how are you getting DRL functionality? I could only see the LED's turning on with Parking Lights, Low beams, and High beams since those are the Live wires and Ground Wires for the 6 pins.

I just installed the 10 series headlights into my car and you do need the white wire tapped into the 12v positive side of the drl resistor harness to get the drl led strip to light up. I just made the mistake to simply repin the 6 into the frs plug and the led strip drl did not come on.

If you simply just repin the 6 wires the LED's would only turn on with parking lights correct?
