Saikou Michi Catch Can Installed!

Installed my Saikou Michi catch can yesterday and overall i'm very happy with my purchase. It's a very high quality can and the welds are nice. Best thing about these catch cans is the vast amount of options you can choose. I did run into a small issue with the clip that mounts onto the catch can, but they are sending me another one. I will update once I receive the clip.

Thanks to @neutron256 for the attachment idea! This is the U-Bolt that was used. I painted it black. http://www.mcmaster.com/#cadinlnord/3176t49/=n9lzvx

If anyone wants my specs here they are.

Installed picture. I'll take some more pictures once I get the updated clip. Right now it's only being held on by 1 bolt.

These are great catch cans. I had one in my MazdaSpeed 3. Worked like a charm. Caught tons of gunk. Cans last forever. I took the one out of my Speed 3 and it's been sitting outside for ages and still looks great. Might use it again if I go FI.

If you do some reasearch on why pcv systems are closed and it will be easy choice. A proper closed system is the best bet NA OR FI. You will need some check valves when you go FI. I have never seen a vented system work better than a properly configured closed system. On the other hand, i have seen MANY vented systems perform VERY poorly. It is a never ending debate and people will stubbornly defend their preferred system, myself included

You will need two cans for a complete system on this car. One for the driver side (pre throttle body to crank case), under WOT this becomes the primary scavenging system (boosted or NA) because there is a constant vacume under WOT. If boosted, the line will need to be sourced pre turbo or SC. And one for the passenger side (crank case to intake manifold), this is the primary system when off throttle as the vacuum is strongest at the intake manifold when off throttle.

What mad_sb said. If you are planning on using same setup, you should probably wait till I get the revised clip to make 100% sure it fits.

How nessessary do you think the 2nd can will be if staying NA? My impression is that it would only see very minimal blow by

I have my second one mounted, but not plumbed yet so i cant say.... but the more time you spend on the go pedal the more important the 2nd can pre throttle body) becomes, especially if you are boosted.

Small update. Driven about 1500 miles of normal street driving. FYI this is a small water bottle. So in reality it's about 25-35% of a shot glass worth of liquid
