After seeing this thread I wanted to drive the Tremola last weekend, but after reaching the Gotthardpass there was still a 5m high snow wall on that road, so I drove back and at least taped part of the mainroad leading up to the Gotthardpass on the north side.
Unfortunately there was a lot of traffic, as there was a traffic jam in the long tunnel below. But what is fascinating about that part of the road are all the bridges and tunnels for both cars and (gearwheeled) train and of course the scenery:

Btw, at the point where an Aston Martin is racing off, there was battle between the French and Russian troops in 1799 (where the French lost but still won that campaign).
The humming sound you can here in the background are the Toyo R888 tires (don't get them if you don't plan to race this car).

PS: I got my wheels from Tirerack (amazingly fast) and my certificate from here:

What a beautiful road. Even though you were going insanely, frustratingly slow behind a bunch of excessively braking traffic (did you ever get past 60kph??), I was still mesmerized. And I noticed a Morgan 3-wheeler coming the other way!

Maybe I'm just jaded from living in California all my life, but I can't imagine anyone wanting to see a drive up my local mountain. Maybe I should take a trip up there (haven't been in the 86 yet), make a video, and see what the Europeans think
