Got a track related question? I'll try to answer.

Any street pad is prone to fading on the track as their not designed to deal with the high temps that track pads are. Edit: found this thread that has a bit more info http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35715

@ATL BRZ
You're right, the HANS is not on the harness bar. It still is designed to work with a full five point or more system. Half-way is a bad idea.

If you have sticky tires or want to threshold-brake for a full session, you'll definitely need real track pads.

As I started learning one track better, I noticed my top speed in the straight increased from 96 mph --> 103 mph. As I started consistently hitting 103 mph lap after lap, I noticed my brakes started fading a bit more. Just something to keep in mind, esp if you're on street pads.

Going from stock to Stoptech is like going from a 1 to a 2, while going from stock to a race pad, is like going from a 1 to a 7-10, depending on the pad |

Problem is I may not even get out lapping another time for the next year, so its hard to justify spending 4 times the price on a set of pads I may not use.

Ultimately, if you decide you don't need the brake pads, race pads aren't difficult to sell used; it's a fairly linear depreciation with the amount of pad material left. You carry auto insurance, even though you don't ever plan on using it, right? |

The pads aren't going to go stale if you take them off after track day and use them next year. I put a set of Winmax W4 on mine for track day tomorrow. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk |
