Yep for a full flush you will want a liter to make sure you have enough.

on the topic of tire pressures:

I ran two days of HPDE1 and 2 last weekend, and on both days ran 36psi on Michelin PSS 225/45-17 on 17x8 rims.

On Day 1 I got some chunking on the rears, and not much on the fronts.
On Day 2 I don't think I got worse chunking, but definitely was running faster laps.

Should I spend the first lap or two really trying to heat the tires before I rip ass on them?
Higher or lower cold pressure?

Day 1 HPDE1 FRONT

Day 1 HPDE1 REAR

Day 2 HPDE2 FRONT

Day 2 HPDE2 REAR

There's a 205/40R17 NT01 available. A set of those on some 17x7 RPF1's (14.8lbs each!!!) should do the trick.

Honestly, there was almost TOO much grip for stock power with the NT01's in 215.

You go even smaller when you run Hoosiers

I'm really glad you understand why we prefer smaller tires to the 245/255 everyone seems to want.

@kavanagh: You're just overheating that rear period! You need a little more camber as well, but the pressure is fairly close.

I was in that club too, before I ran with the 215 NT01!

At 215, the NT01 should be well sized. Try to find more cornering speed to make up for the straightline speed loss. It should be faster all around, except on absolute power tracks, like Laguna Seca.

Yeah I just need to keep increasing the speeds and getting a feel for the limit on grip for these tires, which I have yet to find. I keep pushing and pushing them and there just seems to be endless grip.

NT01's like a lot of heat and slip angle, which is the opposite of the PSS.

Thanks Mike! I'm grabbing a set of camber bolts from a local forum member.

I think I've been reading that 1.5* negative front camber is decent for street/track?

It's a good start, but you'll want more if you keep tracking. Camber doesn't wear the tires too much for street use unless you do a TON of highway driving.

erm.... we do a ton of highway driving...

We bought the car December 6th, and have 8900 miles on her. Plus Lisa just started a trip today that will add about 600 miles by Friday.

edit: Yeah, yeah, yeah. we need dedicated track wheels/tires/pads...

Oh that's not bad... I do 45k+ a year and have -3.5 camber on my car
